Time to spill my guts. I joined on 10-13-19, did the whole thing. tracking, sticking to the plan, scanning my way through the grocery store. I was losing about a lb or so a week. Right around mid December I began slipping a bit here & there, nothing too bad but of course that's how it always starts. I had lost 16 lbs by Christmas though, not bad right? As of today, I am back to only 1 lb down from my starting weight. I don't know how it happens and I get more & more frustrated each time. All I want is to feel good about myself and this is the last piece of the puzzle that I just can't find  I am hoping that this group can be my savior. A place to vent, celebrate, ask for help, get motivation to stay strong. I need help. Thank you for listening.
Time to spill my guts.

We all know how to lose weight, I know for myself that I’ve struggled my whole life with being overweight. WW is a lifestyle. I think the hardest part is portions that are served. I was taught to clean my plate! Lol. We’re all in this together 1 day at a time. I myself make small goals for myself!

Right there with you. Now I can't get back into tracking. I so disappointed with myself. At this point I'm just wasting money unless I can get back on track.

@newel5 you can do it too!

Use the fb ww group's and connect on the app. It helps keep me motivated. Third is my 2nd time doing ww. The 1st I only lost about 5lbs. But I was also eating my depression. This is my 2nd attempt at ww. I had to change my mindset. I could keep eating my way too bad health and go from prediabetic to diabetic, OR I could eat my way healthy. Im choosing healthy. I have beautiful grandbabies that I want to play with and watch grow up. And I DESERVE to be happy and healthy. So do you. We can do this!

I have struggled ALL my life and each diet including WW I would lose 40 pounds then return to my old eating habits. I finally got it in my head that WW now is not a diet but a lifestyle. I'm not buying a lot of diet foods, I'm using the foods I love to eat and calculating points or adjusting preps to make it more WW friendly and it's working because old habits were bad habits. I do stay away from potatoes and pasta so far and on a holiday, I will indulge but in way smaller portions. I started January 6th and have lost 11 1/2 pounds so far. My weigh-ins are now 1-2 pounds a week which is fine. slow and easy. I'm on Green which is the closest to the old plan. So far so good and I'm feeling better about myself because I'm DOING something. Sometimes a taboo food is okay with just one bite for me. I do struggle with drinking water so I'm going to try seltzer. WE CAN DO THIS.

I can’t lose a pound since January and I count points drink water and exercise. However I was on a low carb for years I guess I screwed my metabolism and I’m 61 years old

@strepitous I do have thyroid disease for many years and just had it checked I’m on the right dose of meds and it was good but I’m the past I had no problem losing I’m so frustrated but when I look in the mirror it does look like I lost weight but the scale does not show

Oh it happens easily. Getting back ON track after falling off is my hardest task. I managed to do it after Christmas, but after my weigh ins on Fridays (hit Lifetime on 11/1/19–So just trying to maintain) I go a little nuts for a couple days. Why do I do that?! I want to maintain, not binge for 2-3 days then crash diet until weigh in, then start the cycle all over again? It’s not smart and yet I can’t stop!

I know what you mean. I have had my share of joining, stopping & then the cycle repeats itself. Seven years ago I decided to come back one more time & never ever again join OR quit! So, that being said I told the other people in my meeting that if I’m not sick, out of town, or dead. I’ll BE THERE! Since it’s not a “diet” (which lets you stop or start) it’s a healthy way of eating so no reason to stop. Well, that’s my story - hope it motivates you to do the same.

Don't beat yourself up we have all been there and done that I have lost and gained for years. Just start over and go one day at a time. We are all in this together. Slow and steady, and if you fall off track pick yourself up dust yourself off and keep going.

Just start over again. You've been successful in the past so you can do it again. At least now you know where you went wrong, and hopefully you won't make the same mistakes again. It's ok to have a slip up every once in a while, we all do. ☺. You got this! . Good luck. ☺

I made myself crazy today about weighing in. The person who weighed me in was so nice and supportive. this isn’t really about weight for me it’s about making sure I know it’s not a diet. I hadn’t gained, but I took responsibility and WW came through once again!

Support is always available. Remember though, it's mindset. You have to want it for yourself. You can do it.

I totally get it. I started in Sept 2018. I was down 48 lbs by April 2019. and weighted 138 lbs. I kept that off until about Oct when suddenly I just stopped. My treadmill broke in the winter for 2 months (it's fixed now) and I just ate and ate and ate. I put on 24 lbs. I went back to meetings last week and I've had a very good week this week. I know I can do it. I've done it before. Thankfully I didn't put on the entire 48, but half of it. but how disappointed in myself I am. That said, I'm BACK and that 24 will be gone before summer I hope. or close at least. So pull yourself up by the bootstraps and get back to it. track and get moving and eat healthy. You can do it. You did it once.

@luciano good luck. You really can learn from your mistake and you can do this.

Elizabeth. thank you! It made me sick to see what I had done. But I’m back. I’m doing great and I will Be happy to get weighed this week. I NEED those meetings and to be weighed to keep me on track so I’m going to use them. Thank you for caring!

Go by the meat department in the grocery. Look at one, five, ten pounds of any meat. Do it every time you go. Ask yourself, do I want to gain this or lose this? Visual helps

Keep planning. Maybe even a food calendar of events happening that week.
by (1.2k points)
@nonillion Urbine I do really well with meal prep. Every Sunday I make a couple things that I can pre pack for lunches and some dinners, but I run out on Thursday usually and don't typically have time until my next day off (Saturday) to prep again. Those couple days are the toughest. This is where I think I need to be focusing for now.

@schenck sme of the Amy’s light meals are really good and may be easier for a couple days. I love doing a single piece of salmon since I’m the only one who eats it. We also like doing rotisserie chicken and pulling it off the bone for lunches. Potatoes in the oven a couple at a time are easy. Good luck girl!

You can do it. Every week work on one behavior. Like drinking water. Make sure you drink 6 to 8 glasses. You can do it. This is a lifestyle and change in behavior. Write whenever you need to. There's always someone with good advice in this group

I look at myself as a food addict. It’s something I have to learn to deal with. As I sit here reading all of these, I see myself in the comments, I slipped, I’ve got back up and done it again, but I’m hoping for me I’ve learned that good or bad I need to track and go to the meetings. It’s easier to put a gain of 4 lbs behind me then let it get up to 12 or 25 like I have done many times. I’m 62 and have battled weight problems whether in my head when I was 14 and weighed 125, but all your friends were still 95-110. Family always called me plump, big boned, my sister called me fat one time and this complete stranger said she’s not fat just pleasantly plump - that doesn’t help a 12 year old girl!  I can get past that now. I’ve been at goal for almost a year now, the longest I’ve ever stayed here. I feel it is because of the meetings that I have managed this. Good luck to all!

Tracking and being accountable for every bite that goes in your mouth! I know that it is hard, have been doing everything I am supposed to do and I am not losing lbs anymore, took my measurements and am down inches. Just take it one day at a time! Good luck!
