I was hoping to start having more smoothies. I usually make one with kale, half a pear, cup of unsweetened almond milk, half a banana and a tablespoon of almond butter. it's so good but isn't that kind of high in points?

Aren't fruit and veggies zero points, so the only points are for your milk and whatever else

Only if you eat them whole, once you blend them you have to count them

@coimbra761 - well if they are blended that actually have points.

Blended = points? That's silly. sonokce you chew them they're points too?

@deafening861 yeah if you are drinking it the way your body will process the sugars and calories makes it points.

If you liquefy fruit the points go way up.

When it’s blended it has points. Just like dried fruit is high points. If anybody doesn’t think it’s true then ask your WW leader.

It’s reasoning is bc. if you are making a smoothie and drinking it, your not getting the same satisfaction of chewing. So you will most likely be eating a lot of zero point foods in one sitting when usually they would be spread through out the day. When you chew food vs drinking it there are signals in your brain that might not realize just how much your consuming. I guess studies show your more satisfied when chewing your food vs just throwing them in a smoothie and slugging them down. Also smoothies are usually way higher in sugar bc you put so much stiff into bled it up.

WW doesn’t encourage members to make smoothie, even though they sell smoothie mixes that’s add milk or water.
