I am 40 and will be having a hysterectomy in the next few months. Has anyone had a hysterectomy and still lost weight? Or gone through menopause and still lost weight? I am far from my goal but this is happening and I am afraid I will have a hard time losing the rest after the surgery and going into menopause.

I wish you a speedy recovery. You can do anything you put your mind to. Be kind to yourself. Exercise and eating in moderation you will be just fine.

Girls, at 40, our metabolisms naturally slow down, that’s the reason our weight loss is more difficult. You will have to eat healthy and exercise to maintain no matter what kind or how much surgery you have.

Nailed it ! I had a partial hysterectomy at 28 y/o. I did not start gaining weight until my late 40's.

I’m 63. Finished menopause at 50. My hip needed replace at 58. Finally had that done at 59 but I’d put on 60 pounds since then. I just reached my 50 pound weight loss. I’m not done yet, but, yes! It can be done.

I also finished menopause in my early 50's and had a hysterectomy at 59, I was still able to lose weight. You just have to stick with diet and exercise, you'll do fine. Watch what you eat and get out and walk! Oh, and my hysterectomy was an easy recovery! ❤️

You can do it. I felt so much better after total hysterectomy. And yes, I have MCTD, lupus, sjogrens, etc. I am limited but not stopped.

After menopause or hysterectomy, metabolism slows. an unfortunate fact. However, it does not define your journey to good health. With a proper healthy diet and exercise, I lost 42 lbs in 5 months at age 65 and I’ve read many others with greater results. You will be successful

Honestly, you will feel so much better and have more energy to exercise. Mine was a total vaginal hysterectomy with removal of ovaries as well. I had no problems and felt great after my surgery. Hope you do as well as I did. I really don’t understand why it would hamper weight loss.

Moronga is all natural and will help with every illness or problems you have. I have taken it for 8 months. My health has improved so much. Lowered my sugar and blood pressure. I have no female problems or headaches. All illnesses are due to the processed food we eat and vitiamin defencies. It gets rid of precancerous cells or cancer in your body as well as free radicals. Look up benefits of Moringa.

Yes, you can lose weight after menopause. It takes a bit of effort as your hormones have shifted, but weight loss does happen. Eat well (yea WW), exercise and drink lots of water.

Hysterectomy around 50, but didn't 'see the light' until 64. At that point, I lost 40 easily (WW) and have now been Lifetime for over six years. I think you should be fine.

I was 40 when I had my hysterectomy. First, you need to take care of yourself. If they say don't do anything stressful for six weeks, listen to them. My husband was in the military when I had mine, and we were transferring within a month. Because I was working around the house and doing things I should not have done, I developed an infection. Luckily, they caught it, I started taking it easy and all was well. I lost weight after the surgery. I gained a lot of weight later, but I think it would have happened even without the surgery. Track and measure and you'll be fine.

I am 76 and am currently 5 lbs lighter than my goal weight set for me in 1973. Been lifetime since 1974. Have had a few ups and down along the way but WW is always my go to. I now do it online. Health issues have never hindered my progress, nor any meds for that matter.

@cudgel1 this is a great question! Women who have gone through menopause/hysterectomy, and who do not use a estrogen supplement, experience a decrease in muscle mass and strength. This is important because muscles increases your resting metabolism! Which helps your body burn more calories. If you experience a stall in your weight loss journey — giving strength training a try!

I had my thyroid removed at age 32 due to cancer; had a total hysterectomy at age 43-everything went- and I’m now 68 yrs. young and so far I’ve lost 40 lbs. it’s kinda “slow and go” for me as at times my thyroid meds have to be adjusted; and of course the older we get the harder it is to lose weight; but slow and steady wins the race. it can be done if you stick with the program!

Yes, had my hysterectomy 30 years ago and I m now 57. Weight loss has been successful with less sugar, breads, other carbs and lots of water. I walk for exercise or workout to videos. Eat in appropriate portions. I weigh every monday morning to know where I'm at. It's a process that takes time. Take it one day at a time.

I'm going through menopause and, had lost over 30 pounds in 4 months. Just my opinion, but the whole age, menopause "slowed weight loss" is a bunch of BS. Just ask all the 50-80 year olds that have lose their weight. Prayers for your sugary and, a speedy recovery.
