I have osteoarthritis in my spine 16 years my senior and the excess weight is not good

@gail164 one step at a time. Break up your goal into smaller amounts. Aim for 10%of what you weigh now. When you lose that 10%, aim for the next 10%. You can do it! There's a great support system here.

You shouldn’t go by what others say it depends on your body. You maybe should wait until you see how you feel after losing what you think is a good weight for yourself. You can then decide if it’s higher than WW chart then find a doctor and discuss what is best for your own body.

You can just look up a BMI calculator online, enter in your stats, and it will tell you what your healthy range should be.

It’s height and weight not age and weight
by (2.2k points)
I kinda agree, but I also know that I feel better at 135 & I can’t realistically get to 125

Do you feel better at laughing at someone who was asking a question for knowledge? Educate, don't berate.

I believe it depends on your body frame. According to charts i should be 108-132 and last time i was 122 i looked sick. (As i look back in pics and my fam told me as well). i believe for my frame 135-140lb best weight. so i need to lose 20lbs

I think besides your age and height, you have to go by body frame.

Get a physical. Make sure treatable issues like diabetes, hypertension or thyroid problems are not impacting your weight.

First of all, even if you don’t go frequently, Please find a doctor that can get to know you or have a file on you.

I think the traditional formula is 100 lbs at 5 ft and add 10 lbs for each inch. At 5ft 5". that would be 150. I have a large frame.

My BMI app says a normal range would be from 97-128lbs if you are 5 feet tall.

Up to 130 . Anything around that range would be realistic . I am 5. 2 and I look terrible at 110. 115-122 I look great. I’m at 129 now and I feel I need to drop but even if I don’t ‍♀️ it’s not that bad.

Lots of things to consider – not the lease being genetics and body bulk — density of bones! You don’t have a family doctor? That’s more important and a necessary please to start!

Where you feel happy and healthy! WW has a high weight for me at 141 (I am 5’3”) and my body is happiest about 155 - and it is far more maintainable for me

What weight do you feel good at. Its your body and you have to feel good and look at it every day. When you were a teen what was your weight then? We get older and the same weight we were young doesnt look as good. I would suggest going about 10 bls more than you were at 18 or 19. Im know Doctor but qe have to feel good about our self and what we want.

BMI will only tell you what your body mass index is or in other words are you healthy, overweight or obese but not what you should weigh

It would be to your advantage to try and get a doctor, so that you can be guided. He could tell you a realistic weight for your height.

Take into account bone structure. I am 48, height 5'1 and weigh 150. BMI charts usually put me in the obese category. But this weight feels healthy for me, I feel good about it. When I try to lose more I don't feel good. Go with what your body is telling you and not on a chart.
