I’m on the blue plan, is it at all possible to loose weight if I don’t buy the sugar free or sugar less items? I get major headaches if I consume these. Anyone else have this issue? I’m about to give up.

I’m on Blue. I never use SF products. I eat the real deal & take the points. Lost 53 lbs in 11 months. & I’m 67.

@beker do u stay hungry?
by (3k points)
@licketysplit I really don’t. I work my meals around 0 point foods. For example I’ll have a banana, 2 eggs (sometimes scrambled with peppers & onions) & a piece of Josephs Pita Bread for breakfast. Total is only 1 point & it’s very filling. Lunch is usually a turkey breast sandwich on Joseph’s pita with roasted red pepper & jalapeño pieces. That’s also only 1 point. I still have 21 points left for dinner & snacks. I’ll have a regular dinner, but eat more veggies then I used to eat. For snacks I’ll have a fruit, or a protein bar, or Good Thins w/turkey pepperoni. & several other choices. There honestly are so many good snacks that aren’t that many points. Even Goldfish crackers. It took me a few weeks to figure out how to work it out to work for me. I had to play around with it. Good luck to you!

. And I also still use a little bit of sugar here and there as well and it does not affect me as its only have teeth pulled in my coffee here and there. Once or twice a day. No one has to use artificial sweeteners if they don't choose to or if they don't agree with their body. Many substitutions available like eat fruit and vegetables. 4 just tweaked it anyway you want to you'll find your own substitutions that work for you and many situations here

I don’t eat anything with artificial sweeteners. I learned 15 years ago that Aspartame triggers my migraines. I prefer to eat whole/healthy foods & if I want a treat, I plan my day accordingly to save points for a splurge of the real stuff. 19 lbs down since 1/28.

I dont use ANY artificial sweeteners. I dont eat much sweet stuff. It's crazy, because I used to LOVE all the sweet stuff, but I have found that if you can get through a couple ( admittedly brutal ) weeks without sweets, your cravings for them will truly diminish.

If you eat whats natural but less of it you should be ok. Artificial sweeteners are not good for anyone.
by (510 points)
@menzies what about fat free stuff ?
by (2k points)
Usually fat free is substituted with sugars and chemicals to give it flavor. You do need some fat in your diet so don't cut it out completely, natural foods in smaller portions is the best way, but thats just my opinion.

The plan works and is sustainable because it let's you eat the food you love in healthy portions. Those no sugar, no fat low fat foods are usually processed and not the best for you. The plan works best if you eat real whole foods, un processed foods in healthy portions. This means you need to be mindful of portion sizes even with the zero point foods. You can eat anything you want in healthy portions. Purple gives you the most zero point non-processed foods.

Only been on blue and down 21 since February 4, 2020. I do use sweet and low at times but other than that I count sugar points.

Definitely- it’s about how many points you use, not how you use them. Some people prefer to hack their favorites instead of making bigger lifestyle changes. I did that a lot in the beginning and now I don’t eat much of the sugar free stuff.

You don’t need to buy anything sugar free just track your points and stay within your budget

I’m on blue. Lost 62 lbs in 10 months. I do not like fat free or sugar free. Question the additives. I consume butter, have occasional ice cream . Measure & track. For me blue fits in to my lifestyle.

I stay away from items containing artificial sweetners because of body aches and headaches. Look for stevia sweetened, I do not have the same issues with it.

Of course! Just use portion control! Lots of people use whole foods with no artificial sweeteners.

I have lost 42lb on the blue plan so far. I still eat the foods I used to eat just minus full fat Coca Cola within my point range. You don’t have to cut it out or substitute xxx

Yes! I try to eat real food and count my points. I don’t like all the sugar free , fake butter and peanut butter. I eat real peanut butter almost everyday and still loose weight. I just count the points

Stay away from that crap if it makes you sick. I have a friend whose husband is a diabetic and he actually eats sugar though and very tiny portions. Most of that artificial stuff is poison. Must be doing some unbelievable things to the inside of our bodies.

WW doesn't even sell sugar free or anything made with artificial sweeteners. They redid all their food line. So it is not required to eat anything sugar free and WW doesn't push or require it either.
by (47.5k points)
@communication96445 Keime Lerch They sell processed food

I eat a few sugar free items mostly just conscious of what I eat and I've lost 50 pounds on blue. Hoping to add more this year but since I've been down with a back injury haven't been as strict following the plan

I don’t do many low fat or fat free items, I prefer Whole Foods and avoid reduced calories and sugar substitutes as much as I can. It forces me to eat a lot more fruits and veggies lol but I don’t like the fake stuff either. I’ve been doing this about 2 months and lost 13 lbs.

I only eat whole foods, real sugars or real sugar byproducts. no chemicals. Only lowfat items I eat are dairy items with no added sugars. All that garbage is terrible for you

My doctors told me many years ago not to use any kind of artificial sweeteners!

I am doing fine withOUT using sugar free items. I personally HATE artificial sweeteners. They leave a very bad taste in my mouth and found I would eat/drink anything to lose that bad taste. Therefore eating unneeded calories. So I just stay away from them. I joined WW in late February and as of today, lost 19. 7 pounds. I eat mostly fresh/frozen vegetables, fruits, chicken breast, occasionally pasta. I am also guilty of an occasionally eating A PIECE of salted caramel (whereas, before, I would eat the whole bar or 1/4th of the container). If I want to drink pop, I drink flavored soda water, without sweetners of any kind. I, personally find for myself, that if I totally deny myself of the foods I love, i am more liable to binge eat A LOT of bad foods. It also helps, that I love to eat leafy salads with fat free dressing, and cut veggies for snacks. Also, during the last month, I AM doing more stress eating. So, I will take the slow and steady losses of 1. 5 - 2 lbs a week losses. Good Luck @pase4118 on your weight loss journey! WE CAN DO IT!
