Do y'all ever see random stats about weight loss or the diet industry that just make you feel discouraged? Yesterday I read that 92% of women are unhappy with their bodies. So that means there is a very good chance that once I get to my goal weight I will still pick apart my body's imperfections, and that just sucks to think about. I know I should be more focused on overall health, and I definitely am to an extent, but I'd be lying if I said my appearance wasn't the reason I started this journey. So what do y'all do when you have moments like this to keep yourself feeling motivated? Any advice would be much appreciated!

The truth of the matter is, you probably will continue to pick at your perceived imperfections if you don’t work on the reasons that brought you to where you are. To truly be successful, I believe we have to see our flawed thinking and dysfunctional coping mechanisms and truly learn to accept ourselves, inside and out. Big or small. Part of the journey is learning that healthy and confident doesn’t mean perfect, it means being comfortable in (as well as grateful for) the body you have. Chin up! You’re probably your hardest critic, but have the power to be your own biggest fan!

Don’t do it! Love yourself at every weight! I hear of ppl feeling just as bad about themselves after they lose their weight! This is not a weight issue. It’s a self love issue!

@stockpile I wonder if my nephrologist will feel this way? Lol. All he wants is for me to lose like 10lbs and keep my weight in that “decade” but it will not budge!

Nobody says you can't "work" on your attitude along with your dieting for your body. Those feelings of inadequacy don't have to be self-fulfilling at all.

@desireedesiri then perhaps you should stop looking with ridiculous standards on social media and learn to love yourself! Everyone deserves to be happy

It is critical to start with the positive belief that you will succeed. Don't anticipate failure of any kind. You, ultimately, are the key to your success. Stop focusing on the things you don't like about yourself and work on an attitude of gratitude. I wish you luck and love.

90% of this journey is mental. How your relationship is with food, where it comes from, how you feel about yourself, what's in your way and how to get past it. Only then will everything else fall into place. You can do the plan without this work but it will be a struggle.

DON'T listen to or read any of that CRAP! Love yourself. Just keep telling yourself that you are worthy of all the love there is in the world. Tune out everything else! You will succeed in everything you do with this mindset! ❤

@bacchanal Hehe fake it till you make it right? Sounds a bit strange, but really works  Of course there will always be something (wish that my nose was a bit smaller, legs a bit longer) but then I remember what other people say about me, that I have such beautiful eyes and hair. You are you, you deserve to be happy and, most of all, you deserve to be healthy and feel good!
