I am BEYOND frustrated!  I started WW in October after giving birth in May of last year and am down 35lbs.I am BEYOND frustrated! I started WW in October after giving birth in May of last year and am down 35lbs. I have 10lbs until goal and I have been the same weight for the past 2 months! I'm always within points, go walking, drink water, stay away from sodium. someone tell me this is because I'm still breastfeeding! I've heard when you're nursing your body holds on to the last 10lbs until you wean. Is this true? Edit: a lot of people are suggesting not to cheat. I just want to clarify I track every bite and measure everything still. I dont eat a lot of fruit, maybe half a banana a day. I eat healthy fats like olive oil and avocado. I DO, however, kinda eat the same things every day. Dinner gets mixed up but my breakfasts, lunches and snacks are usually the same.

Good job with the 35! Maybe have a cheat day and mix it up a bit to restart your metabolism? More healthy fats? You’ve done great!

Awesome job! You may want to do some intermittent fasting. That always helps me jump start my system and move the needle. Also- you need a cheat day to throw off your system.

Go back to basics. Make sure you are truly being honest with your serving sizes. Sometimes we are super diligent about weighing, etc. our food in the beginning and then start eyeballing. Your body may need you to change up some things to shake it into moving the scale again. Try eating a different variety of food or different combination of fat, etc. Finally, give yourself grace. Stress and negative emotions sabotage weight loss. You birthed a human being. I’m not sure if you are getting regular sleep yet, but try to focus on the other parts of weight loss - sleep, meditation, self-care. Focus on nourishing the mind, body and soul. You’ll get there.

A lot of people find that last 10 pounds difficult. Its stress. The easiest seems to be when you first join the program. SO go back to basics and restart today! Everyday is a new fresh start. We all get into that frame of mind at one point or another. I reread the post I share with other people that are just starting out or need refocusing when I need to refocus myself. Maybe something on this will help you. The good thing is it is a new day! Today you start fresh. Today is your first day! Welcome to WW! Here are some basic tips TRACK every lick, bite, and taste. The program does not work if you don't track. You can lie to the tracker but your body knows what it ate. MEASURE breakout the measuring spoons, cups and the food scale. Don't eyeball it you will be wrong. EXERCISE find something you love. You won't do if you hate it. I personally like walking, dancing when the weather says don't walk, and cardio-drumming. I do cardio-drumming from YouTube videos. Nothing is more satisfying than hitting things with sticks. If you need to start easy try marching in front of the TV during commercials and then build yourself up to a whole show. MEAL PREP I always keep a big bin of chopped onions, a big bin of chopped bell peppers, and a big bin of chunks of cooked chicken breast. I also have staples like cucumbers, tomatoes, spinach, pasta, laughing cow triangle cheese, olive oil farro, tzatziki sauce, garlic, eggs, apples, oranges, bananas, berries, whatever is in season. This way when I am hungry I have healthy choices. Breakfast omlette throw together garlic, onions, peppers, eggs and then fold it over a cut up wedge of laughing cow cheese. For lunch a very easy tzatziki chicken. Chicken, bell pepper, onions, cucumber, tomatoes. Toss it with tzatziki sauce. You can put it on a pita, eat it without the pita, or what I like to do is RIP up half a pita and mix it in after the tzatziki is mixed in. For dinner maybe a salad with the spinach, onions, peppers, chicken. Etc. Maybe pasta or rice with anything on the list. The most important tip is KINDNESS be as nice to yourself as you are to others. When you are giving your self negative back talk, ask yourself if that is how you would speak to a friend and give yourself a break. I almost forgot. zero points does not mean zero calories. For instance, a banana is zero points but if you over banana you are gonna get yourself into trouble. EAT you need to eat within 10 below and 5 above your points level. If consistently under eat your body thinks there is a famine and holds on to every ounce of weight it can until the famine is over. Under eating and over exercising is a bad combo. If you stick to 5 below and 5 above it works better. for me at least. You are not alone in this. A lot of us join with that "last resort" mentality. But don't think that way. Take a nice before picture with a big smile because today is the day your life changed for the better. You are gonna get healthy, you are gonna be fit. You are gonna breathe better. You just need to give it some time. This is a slow process but it is a process that works. I'm excited for you taking this big step towards a healthier life. You might want to sit down and write yourself a love letter stating why you joined WW and what your long term goals are, how you will accomplish them (small term goals) and what you will be able to accomplish when you get there! I personally would like to be able to get up off the floor without having to hoist myself up on the couch like I am climbing Mount Everest. That is one of the things future me will be able to do. Last tip. don't hang out in the kitchen. Eat there, cook there, clean the dishes. But if it isn't kitchen related get out of there it is too tempting. Also do not compare your journey to anyone else's. We are all different. We all have different metabolisms. So mind your own journey and don't worry that someone else lost more that week. It won't help your progress.

The last pounds can be the hardest. You dont have as much fat to lose anymore. Kick up the exercise to burn more calories. Get in enough protein and some good fat.

Yeah I was stuck on the last 10 pounds too. I made sure I drank half my weight in water everyday. I made sure I got in 10, 000 steps per day and I switched up the diet. One day 23 pts, next day 26, next day 19. I replaced 5 days of chicken with other things like shrimp, scallops, tuna, etc. I also did intermittent fasting. Only ate 9am til 5pm. Somehow it worked. Sorry can’t help with the breast feeding part; my baby is 25!

You’ve come so far. Don’t give up - you’re doing great. Try to focus on the healthy lifestyle changes you’ve made & not on the scale. You’ve got this!

It is frustrating but stick with it. Even if the scale isn’t reflecting it you’re doing great things for your body and giving the baby great nutrition

You probably hit a plateau. Change up your meals, and exercise routine. Our bodies tend to get used to a certain routine. Actually I would eat whatever I want for a day or two, then get back on track. Try it, it might work. Good luck
by (16.5k points)
I agree. Sometimes just going out to eat, something healthy but different (we love Applebee's sirloin steak, baked potato and green beans), and that will make a difference!

I ate more in points when this happened and it helped. Hv a treat like a piece of cake or similar and maybe this will jump start Yr weight loss again. Maybe try it.

Is your baby breastfed only? If you’re giving solid food you might have to cut back a bit on your breastfeeding points. At one time we had two dif breastfeeding levels. One for exclusively bf and one for partially on solids . I got to my goal while bf. You could cut back on weeklies or get a few extra exercise points to make up for that if they only have bf or not as your choices on your profile.
by (930 points)
@inanna I do t use my weeklies, and my app is set to supplemental BFing so I get 28pts a day
by (470 points)
Ok it has been years since I nursed my baby so I didn’t know. I am a proponent of eating the weeklies unless you eat a ton of zero point foods. For me the last ten lb came off very slowly.

I have not reached my ‘goal’ weight and I have been on WW for about a year. I think it means that I am at my optimal weight and also that it helps keep me on track more because I haven’t ‘arrived’ yet. so I keep plugging. Be gentle & positive with yourself! Celebrate your new lifestyle❤️

It looks like you need to mix things up a bit. Change what you eat and your exercise routine. Maybe even have a day that you have that bowl of ice cream or pasta or chocolate cake or whatever that could jump start your metabolism again.

Plateaus are real and very frustrating. Lots of opinions on how to break a plateau. I don’t know if any work or it just gives us something to do. I do know that Patience and Perseverance always win in the end Not sure what you mean by in points. Many people actually lose best when they eat most/all of their points - including weeklies

You need to do something to change things up. Maybe try a different plan? Or drink more water? Not liquids but only water or herbal tea. Add more exercise? Even if it's only 10 minutes more a day. My first time on WW I lost 10 pounds a month for the first 3 months and then it took me 6 months to lose the last 10, so I know what you're going through.

The last ten are the hardest period. I’m down to my last 15 after losing 65 this past year. And I’ve been up and down the same 2 lbs since February. So I get the frustration. What I’ve had to do is stop putting a time limit on when I think I should lose these last 15 pounds. I just keep doing the right thing… Just as you are… I know that when my body is ready to let go the weight It will. Hang in there just keep doing the next right thing. You’ll get there
