Does anyone just stick to whole foods and avoid anything or most things processed? If so, what are some of your favorite meals and snacks? I've done a few nutrition programs and lots of research, and I know that low fat, low sugar foods tend to be more processed and therefore harder for the body to use. How do you balance that on these plans?

We stick to fresh fruits, vegetables, and fresh meats. We use very little processed foods. I also don't buy sugar free or fat free things. I would rather use extra points than put chemicals in my body.

I prefer to compromise and use light foods. I believe it is necessary to keep some fat in the diet to keep me satisfied. I’ve discovered that there are times that light foods aren’t all that different in points from fat free foods.

We don't eat many processed foods. Cheese and some cold meats and occasionally some pasta. Other than that I make every effort to cook fresh foods.

I only buy fresh fruits and veggies, or use the ones we’ve grown ourself. the only “processed” food I actually purchase is cheese, but I’ve pretty much eliminated it from my diet now. I’ve never been a packaged food person. and if I’m going to have something with a sugar that isn’t fruit, I don’t get “sugar free/fat free” anything because I don’t want to intentionally use something that’s a proven carcinogen, and all the artificial sweeteners are also migraine triggers. so in those rare instances I just have the regular sugar. ‍♀️ As soon as I started doing WW and checked out the points on the fast food I had been eating at lunch, my mind just said No More. so eating fresh has been easy, zero cravings. I snack on fresh veggies or fruits (especially berries and exotic fruits), and I cut them and make pretty platters. I love black beans with a 1-point Ole wheat tortilla and fresh salsa. or garbanzo beans with sliced up cucumbers and tomatoes and drizzled with apple cider vinegar. I enjoy making my own ahi poké (3oz fresh ahi is 1 point) with soy, garlic chili paste, shallots and green onions And then putting that over 3/4C brown rice with micro sprouted greens and nori flakes and edamame, delicious. I like cut up apples with a sprinkling of cinnamon and sugar. I absolutely love home pickled daikon radish and carrots julienned up, I eat a few bites periodically and fermented foods are great for gut health. Hope that gives a few ideas

I live half of the year in Italy, and the only way to do WW in CA and IT is to eat “real food. ” Down 45, 17 lb. to goal—and I have never tasted a WW product. I cook soups, fish, chicken, piles of roasted veg, lots of fruit—cannot get dependent on highly processed foods (which I consider all WW food products to be). I can make a smoothie, oatmeal, other foods without using packaged WW alternatives. So I do, and don’t need to carry them to Italy with me. The person sitting next to me in the workshop gets my free sample—never even tasted any WW foods.

@killian If I’m taking control of my health by eating better, fueling my body—counterproductive to do it with junk foods, overly processed and manufactured foods.

@erbes62494 thanks. I'm not a fan of the erythritol and maltodextrin in these. They're lab-made and the body can't use them. They're sugar subs.
