It is my birthday tomorrow, so I have some little sweet treats I get to have and a yummy coconut pie for my “cake” tomorrow. Plus I got to have carnitas with 1/2 a portion of rice at Chipotle!

I don’t PLAN cheat meals, ever. I may get backed into one with limited choices—so I track every point, do the best I can on portion sizes. If you believe this is a new lifestyle, not a diet, then “cheat meals” are counterproductive. I drop back to a mantra I saw in Connect: “How badly do I want this? ”

I’ve been doing this 20 years, with my ups and downs but have managed to keep my weight pretty consistent . And I disagree about no cheat meals. This is a lifestyle not a diet so you’re going to want to treat yourself regularly or you won’t stick to it-deprivation is not sustainable. It’s not real life. I always treat myself on weigh day and make it up during the week.

@fendig why call it cheating? You eat what you like, track it, own it, and move on. No food I never eat (except tripe and chocolate and beets). But including sweets, ice cream, other high point foods that you want—occasionally—isn’t cheating. It’s being deliberate and in control of your intake.

Since all foods have point value- as long as you track there is really no cheat foods. Sorry to disappoint but there is really no forbidden food. You would be surprised at how few point you eat when you think you are “cheating”
