I have just about given up on WW. I suppose the appropriate statement is I have just about given up on myself. How do I regain my self respect and do the right thing? I’m not depressed. I’m not anxious. My family is healthy. Covid 19 has eluded our family. Thank you, Lord! I am simply tired of thinking about food. Words of wisdom, please.
I have just about given up on WW.

This happened to me until I truly had to uncomplicate it. Make the same lunch everyday until ur tired or it. The same for dinner. Then move on to another easy, simple and healthy choice. It takes the "work" feeling away.

I know right But don’t quit! It’s good you recognize this. That’s why I like WW. You realize things you may not have in the thick of things and you become accountable

Make a list of your WHYS. Why you want to lose weight. This always helps me. I know you can do this. ❤️
by (3.4k points)
@fowlkes good idea. I keep waiting for my whys to have feeling. I feel as if I’m just calling words when I say “why”.
by (38.9k points)
@lovemaking you have to be mentally and emotionally ready. Your why has to have meaning to you; intellectually you may know but do you feel it?
by (3.4k points)
@rubyeruch87 no. I don’t. That’s the problem
by (2.8k points)
@lovemaking Sad to say, I really don’t think you’re being honest with yourself.

I got there myself and had to take a break from tracking. This was last year when I was still counting calories and macros. It can be exhausting. Take a break and come back when you’re ready.
by (3.4k points)
@jamima35 this makes sense. I have to do a sincere revisit of “ready or not”.
by (28k points)
@lovemaking I promise you’ll know when you’re ready.

One day at a time! Think about how much better you will feel! Weightloss does help in building your self-esteem! When you feel good about yourself you will feel good about life in general! Find something you enjoy doing and food becomes less important! Baby steps!

@runin I’m sorry you’re there. It’s not a nice feeling. It took a lot for me to even admit the thoughts and feelings I’m currently experiencing.

@spurge34 Me too, I’m doing ok, starting to excercise and sooo sore. But I have to move around. The last 3 weeks I literally just slept and ate majorly of time. Going to to virtual workshop this week. Hopefully we won’t all keep talking about pandemic

For me it took not thinking about it too much. I kinda just started making the food and tracking it for a while then I started building in healthier WW meals and stuff. It takes time and you shouldn’t revamp your life right away. For me it was getting used to tracking first. Then substitutions such as cashew milk, sugar free creamer, stevia, trying 2 ingredient pizza , ground turkey instead of beef, etc. then I got into a routine and ate the same foods . Over time you experiment more and figure out points. If I ate out, I stuck with grilled chicken and veggies. For a WHILE until now when I use weeklies for splurge. Track EVERYTHING and don’t give up because of negative weeklies. I was -208 weeklies and was down 2lbs.
by (560 points)
Also, start small. Maybe try for 2-3 days a week of tracking and being “on plan” . Then slowly increase to 4 days, then 5.

I feel the same. I'm just tired of all the planning and counting. I'm down 55 . gained the last 2 weeks. I just tired of it all
by (3.4k points)
@mite35 I don’t like the fact we are in the same spot. Yet there’s some form of comfort in it too. Crazy, isn’t it?
by (1.8k points)
@lovemaking it is, it somehow helps to know that I'm not in this boat alone. These are strange days and weight loss is hard in the very best of times. I'm going to just try to maintain this week. some selfcare and regroup hopefully get back on track next week. I'll put on my big girl panties soon.

Ah Judi, it is ruff. But than life IS just thst. My way of comfort eating didn't start w this virus, it started when I was a little girl. And it was all innocent! I kept eating b/c I associated it w wonderful memories. Wonderful feelings. I thought if I just have a little something THAN I would have those happy feelings again. That happy does come back for a few min. Sadly those moments of comfort only last so long. The results are much longer lasting. I have eaten myself to happy far too many times & it had the resulted in me becoming morbidly obese. WW has offered me the tools to get that unbalanced way of living under control. It is freaking HAR@pervious but it is so rewarding. I am learning to replace comfort eating w healthy eating. I am learning to replace the times I want/ need comfort w a different, healthier way. That is what I come here for. This is what I get. support, kindness, ideas, fellowship and a place to tell anyone who needs to hear it, there IS hope. So, let's all get up, clean up, make ur bed & use what ever WW tools you can to plan your day. Look for NSVs let's hear happy results w/o food involved. Let's go WW Worriors!

More getting squishy onions and grapes, off brand stuff, etc. I just SO want to go on the store (I'm high risk so I don't) and fo my own shopping at least. sigh.

It took me months to start doing the tracking. I wasn't ready to fully engage in what I needed to do. I finally decided it was the right time and started with small steps. 10 minute walks, giving up regular Coke, and tracking food. When I saw the scale going down it made me want to continue. You can still stay in WW until you are ready and just hang out. That is what I did.

Ww is not a solution it's a tool. Be kind to yourself. The end goal is establishing a healthy relationship with food. Sometimes it's best to just commit to an hour or a day . One hour at a time sometimes. Mindful eating is the trick to master. Ww can be a tool for that but it's not the be end all. Be gentle with yourself.

I want to give advice but can't take my own advice. a new day tomorrow and I'm going to keep trying, maybe we should do all or as much point free foods and enjoy hearty later say 5ish. dunno really, it may help, we just have to work it in a way that makes sense for us I suppose✋

I took a break from tracking for a while. I’m a working mom with 2 older kids and I was stuck at the same weight, gaining and losing the same 2-3 pounds for many months! Now that in working from home, it gave me new motivation to lose the rest of my weight. I took long walks with my husband/family every morning (until they closed our parks and trails! ) Determined to continue exercising, I dusted off my bike that I had not used in several years and I enjoy riding it almost every day. I use my Apple Watch to track my workout so it adds to my fit points per week. (Never had time to exercise before). I’m looking for healthy recipes to try that I never had the time to do to make for my family. Basically, what I’m trying to say is maybe change things up a bit, try new things or restart former things that made you happy. It might remotivate you. Currently I’m actually obsessed with looking up instapot and air fryer recipes to try as well!

Maybe just allow 5 mins a day or so in the morning to put your food for the day in your app then the rest of the day you can relax and just enjoy what you've tracked. I'm not sure I could do it without tracking but I do find I think less about it if I plan first thing. Xx

Covid is not over. Hopefully it keeps eluding you  That being said, being home for 2 months with such a different routine has made it very difficult. Perhaps you can try a different fitness app to track your eating

I found that I was eating almost constantly, taking advantage of zero-point foods. I switched to the Green plan and decided to honestly track everything for just one week, and am -2. 5. Once you see progress, it’s motivating. Give yourself one honest week, then see how you feel.

Though WW has mostly been a success for me I find myself getting a little fed up. I have been at a standstill for almost a year, and have decided that my body is talking to me telling me enough. I lost 25 pounds and certainly am happy with that, I only wanted to lose another 5, but they just will not leave my body. When we could leave the house and go to a restaurant my friend would ask me, "Are you going to have to count points for the rest of your life" and I have to tell her, yep, that is the way it is going to be for me. Just a little vent, sorry about that, don't even know if this makes sense, but. I understand your depressive feelings.

I’m experiencing the same feelings as you describe. It’s really hard to stay motivated during this time of restrictions. Actually I feel like all I do right now is think about food-what’s for breakfast? What’s for lunch? What’s for dinner? I am tired of thinking about food too! So I have decided to try to get back to eating healthy one meal at a time. Going to start with breakfast and try to stay somewhere around 2-3 points. Then maybe a week later add lunch to the equation. I’m hoping this plan will help me get back on track. Hoping you find a way to “ come back”.

Think about “where will I be if I quit? ” Up in weight? Sad all the time? Disappointed in myself? Poor example to my kids? But if you stay, you’ve got all of us to boost you up, give recipe and exercise ideas, virtual hugs and success stories. You can do this. Put your food for the day in your app while you drink your morning coffee then move on with your day. Are you feeling my hug? .
