I have fallen off track and I am struggling to get back on. I do great during the day and after a long day at work I come home and usually end up binging on whatever. I put on 20 some pounds and I am discouraged because of that. I bought a few books about overcoming binge eating (it has been an issue most of my life). Anybody else struggle or have any suggestions?

I have discovered when I come home I’m hungry and just start eating whatever I can find. What has helped me is meal prepping and having something ready to put in the oven as soon as I get home or having something in the crockpot. That way I don’t have time to graze.

Yaass! Binge eating has been an issue for as long as I can remember. I try to just allow myself some grace. I pat myself on the back for my good days and try to learn from the bad and move forward. ♥️

I just read “It Was Me All Along” by Andie Mitchell. It addresses her lifelong struggle with binge eating. Great read and very enlightening.

I brush my teeth early (7 PM) and try to go 12 hours between dinner and breakfast.

Yes me too! Nighttime is the worse! I try to stick with healthy snacks. Mostly fruit and whipped cream. But some nights are really tough.

I'm waking in the middle of the night and eating! I start with fruit, move on to WW snacks (which I have too many and eat like 4 different ones, s totalling like 10 points) and then if I'm still restless I'll move on to pnb crackers! ‍♀️‍♀️

Tonight I am going to try headspace on the WW app

Yaasssss girl! Same! I work in veterinary medicine and I am LUCKY to get a lunch let alone eat it during my 11 hr shifts, so when I get home, it is GAME ON! I'm in the same boat as you! Brushing my teeth and flavored water additives have helped me a little.

Yes my weakness is cookies lol but what I do is portion them in to whatever the serving size is and put the rest away
by (7k points)
@heartbreaking I choose not to even have cookies in my house because I have trouble with them. At special occasions where they are served, I often eat one & track it. This was this situation Mother’s Day. I felt very satisfied. There were six different varieties & I gave myself the choice of the ONE I wanted & I savored it with coffee.

I have the same issue and it’s frustrating. I don’t even want to eat more than half of this food, idk what happens. I’m not really sure how to help, but know you’re not alone and we will get through it one way or the other!

Of course! That’s probably why a lot of us are here! The key is to get into a complete new routine and mindset when you come home. We are creatures of habit and will do what we always do whether we like it or not. Time to shake things up!

The worst time of the day for me is 5pm when I just get home from work. I always have a snack at that time whether it’s fruit, veggies and dip, or pretzels and hummus. That way I have my snack, have allotted points, and don’t binge.

Honestly the only thing that helps me is treating myself in other ways. A long bath or amazon shopping or something. I had put 10lbs back on since the covid started but I'm back on track now. Looking at everyone's transformation pics motivate me too

Try eating something when you first come home like some low point rice crackers and a little bit of cheese. That should hold you over til dinner.

I wish I did have an answer. It's my story too. Part of it is that after losing 45 lbs. I looked great, got rid of my fat clothes, bought lots of wonderful new things to wear and love dressing up, going out and having people tell me how good I looked. I know health is an important reason to lose weight and it was but for me it was vanity too. I didn't want to end up a fat old lady and losing the weight gave me a goal. I loved my leader and never missed a meeting. Made friends and loved my group. I rarely had a bad day or over ate. Then the virus hit. No more meetings or getting together with friends anywhere. I hang out in old clothes at home although I do my hair and makeup every day I started baking for a hobby and give 80% away and east the rest. It's been ages since I've baked and found out that I am pretty good at it too. I make a lot of people happy with my goodies. I also started having a couple of glasses of wine a few times a week. I have gained 6-8 lbs. I feel fat. I don't look terribly different but feel differently about myself. I have plenty of hobbies but I am a social person and miss the interaction with others. I'm bored. I'm in a rut. I do a WW meeting a week online but it's not the same. Every day I start out great and by the end of the day I have pigged out or had too much wine. I too need help turning around. I don't want to start from 0 again.

@rattail4 hi Joan, start today and every time you want a glass of wine or want to eat in excess, do some exercise. Find some exercise you like and do that. Paul Eugene has chair exercises on YouTube. I am going to start back today. I am recovering from a broken foot and torn ligament from Feb 8. I am on FMLA. Actually my FMLA is over now but been teleased to go back to work. I have gained almost all of the 11 lbs I lost in Jan. I am starting back today tracking and chair exercising.

I used it take an apple with me to work and eat in on the way home. By the time I got home I wasnr hungry. That would hold me over until dinner. Find a piece of fruit you really like. I love the honey crisp apples.

Yes for sure. I have just learned that when I do it. I get it out of my system and I get back on track the next day and don’t let one episode derail me. I used to just throw my hands up and say “oh well. I’ve messed my diet up may as well just forget it” but now I don’t and I’ve lost 60 pounds but picking myself up and getting back on the wagon so to speak. you have to stay focused on the prize. if you blow it don’t let that be the norm. let it be a once and a while occurrence
by (7.9k points)
Also. I know I feel awful when I eat bad all the time. I feel lighter and better when I’m not stuffing myself. so that’s something to motivate you also

I’ve been struggling since this virus shutdown. I have good intentions all day until late afternoon. Can’t wait for my group meetings return, they are what keeps me on track.

Me too! I can have a few days and I'm really good and then binge on so much, I've been on WW for nearly 2 months and I've put on weight. I spoke to my coach about it this week and I'm going to try and plan all my meals and snacks for the week. I'm also going to make a few "naughty" snacks like WW biscuits and cakes so when I what rubbish it won't be as bad xx

Prep some snacks, zero point veggies for example, washed and cut up, maybe even arrnaged on a plate, that you can grab as soon as you get home. Drink a large zero point beverage. Then have your pre-planned and partially prepped evening meal. As soon as you finish your meal, brush your teeth. Maybe you're rewarding yourself for survining another long day at work? That's a nice way to treat yourself but think of non-food rewards that you'll enjoy. Plan activities to keep your mind, hands, and mouth busy when you're not eating. Best wishes!

I do the same thing! Then I will try getting my 10, 000 steps a day just to waste them in evening snacks instead of getting to my goal which is 11 pounds away.

Get a buddy/partner. You each support each other and rely on each other. Or try the swear jar method $$$$$.

Same problem here! Ugh. but I will say that I tried intermittent fasting and that has helped a lot. Still track everything but you only have a window of time to eat, then you are done for the night. The first couple days suck for me but then I’m good. My belly thanks me too! Good luck girl! . You got this!

I have gained 13 pounds since March 17 when I was sent home to work. Still working from home and without a healthy daily routine. I have to pull myself together.
