High fat fake meat.

It’s just not meat. It’s for vegetarians not for dieters. I haven’t had it but I LOVE Dunkins new meatless sandwich but also very high in points
by (3.4k points)
@jamisonjammal8 yeah the Dunkin meatless is actually good. But agree just for those choosing to not eat meat.

It is anything BUT healthy. It’s just not meat.

Vegan and vegetarian do not equal healthy. Oreos are vegan. def not health food. Impossible and Beyond burgers are both high in fat. May be slightly less fat than their beef burger, but barely.

Probably has a lot of salt so it tastes edible.

by (7.9k points)
If it makes you feel any better half of the burger Kings can’t make them right and burn them to a dry hockey puck so it’s a gamble if it will be good. When they make them right they are awesome (for those of us that don’t eat beef). but it’s a gamble to get the good ones. if you eat beef probably safer to find a healthier beef option

Carbs. It's all grains.

I get it without the bun, mayo and no cheese. But, beware, like someone else said, not all of the BK's know how to cook them. I've had them and they've been delicious and then I got one that was way overcooked and I couldn't eat it. I've never had a greasy one; I do like beef but, also enjoy good vegetarian food from time to time.

It’s sooo good though. I feel lucky the BK in town can nail it. We tried it during quarantine because we were bored. My SO, who is picky, even liked it.  I get a whopper jr no cheese for 10 on green or a kids meal so I can have fries and a drink.

I don’t think it was introduced as a “healthy” option but rather an option for vegans/vegetarians.

A lot of vegan foods are just processed fillers to imitate other foods. Nothing healthy about it, just doesn’t contain meat

Look at the ingredients when you see them at the store coconut oil-not healthy stuff I think they are 18 g of fat
by (16.4k points)
@militarist Webb coconut oil is healthy. not the lou @contribute kind but organic, raw, unrefined coconut oil is antifungal, antibacterial, and can be used topically as a carrier for essential oils e. t. c

It's not supposed to be healthy. It's supposed to mimic meat for the vegans who like the taste of meat but not the idea of killing animals.

by (1.8k points)
Yes, you’re better off with a Whopper Jr. or grilled chicken sandwich both w/o mayo or sauce.
by (5.9k points)
@cythera523 yeah except for the dead thing.
by (1.8k points)
@suchta90365 Street well, yeah. There’s that if you’re Vegan. Sorry.

This burger also has way more sodium’s then the beef burger, like double the amount. Being presented as a healthier alternative but it isn’t.

It's just as bad as a regular meat burger. They are not healthy - just not beef. Not sure it's presented as a healthy option but a vegetarian option.

by (6.5k points)
I agree with all of the above, you have to watch it because they market it like it’s a healthy /non meat option. Just because they say it’s made without meat doesn’t mean it’s going to be lower in points. There are so many things out there that they say are healthier and they are high in points. I love the app for scanning and putting items in.
by (9.6k points)
@dearman9 yes app helped me not buy it

What do you expect for "fake meat"
+27 votes
by (2.6k points)
It’s supposed to be meatless for vegans they never advertised it as being healthy

Unless your ordering a salad with no dressing. there is nothing at Burger King that is "healthy" .

Lots of carbs My daughter tried the meatless diet for about 38 day’s, I scanned a lot of stuff just because. and the margarine that she bought was like 4 points per tablespoon. no thank you!

Fake meats contain many fillers, including some of the same ingredients used to make plastic. I steer clear of anything “engineered” to impersonate something that it isn’t.

It's just a substitute for meat.

Grains and beans have calories too. I think no animal products is the main draw, not necessarily better for you and they are highly processed.
+30 votes
by (9k points)
The goal of much plant based food as meat replacement is not to be healthy but to stop eating animals.

@entasis97793 all BK food does that to me.
by (47.5k points)
@entasis97793 It’s full of chemicals

by (6.4k points)
Remember that a lot of option that seem “healthier “ are a lot of points. Stick to this simple rule, the cleaner and leaner decisions are best. Stray from simple carbs, they add up fast. Even grains that are “healthy “ are point builders! When you crave starchy carbs go to beans, shirataki noodles or butternut squash. (I know this comment has nothing to do with Burger King, but that burger must have a lot of hidden ingredients in it to add up those points. )

@ooze917 Garbage food
by (47.5k points)
@ooze917 Ingredients Lightlife Plant-based Burger: Water, pea protein, expeller pressed canola oil, modified corn starch, modified cellulose, yeast extract, virgin coconut oil, sea salt, natural flavor, beet powder (color), ascorbic acid (to promote color retention), onion extract, onion powder, garlic powder.
by (7k points)
@teraterai yes I haven’t eaten their food in years
by (47.5k points)
@ooze917 Fast food restaurants are notorious for cross-contamination, or transferring ingredients from one food or meal to another. In the case of the Impossible Whopper, cross-contamination occurs between real meat and Impossible's faux meat: The restaurant acknowledges that the Impossible Whopper patty cooks in the same broiler as chicken and beef.

They add fillers and fat to make it resemble beef. The trap we all fall into - something gets marketed as healthy but it’s the same or worse than the original

Pretty sure the 113 gr of salt in one 4oz patty might have something to do with it. If you google Burger queen nutrition forimpossible burger. you can get a side by side rundown with it and reg burger. unless your vegan, it's not a good option

If you’re looking for a meat free option, boca burgers are sold in grocery stores and are only 1 point per patty!

I think we’re led to believe it’s healthy, when the “real” benefit for some is the fact that it’s meat-free.

An impossible burger that you get at the grocery store is 8 points. Throw everything else on it (bun, mayo, etc. ) and that's where the points add up.
