OK I started weight watchers about a week ago. Has anyone experienced excessive bloating? I don’t know if it’s all the vegetables that we get to eat and fruits that are causing this but I’m not really hungry I just feel really bloated. Honestly I don’t feel like I’m being deprived of anything except for chocolate. And will this feeling go away after a while once my body gets used to eating all these vegetables and fruits.?

Do you mean gassy or like your fingers are swelling?
by (1.6k points)
@prerogative that’s what happening to me but I do have medical problems curious does this happen to you . I don’t eat salt

My fingers swell a little depending on my water intake and I think some snacky foods do this. Fake sugars, like in sugar free chocolate and some protein shakes give me gas and bloat my stomach :(

@prerogative Honestly gassy like a balloon I just wish it would stop

@footway I just think it’s gas I am but I think it’s because of all the vegetables but it really makes me feel like Crap. I’m hoping once I’ve been on a little bit longer maybe my body will get used to it. I wasn’t a bad either before it’s just what I eat and when I eat it I’m probably them out. But I need a hip replacement so I don’t get to move much are used to be a lot lighter than what I am now.

This happened to me! My stomach was out of sorts for a week or so. You get used to it though and it goes away & you end up feeling MUCH better than before you started

@lousy Nicholson this is my third week and I’m still feeling this way ready to give up . I have medical issues and can’t move much but I forced myself to walk today 15 minutes and I think he helped

@lousy Nicholson I can relate to the medical issues I need a hip replacement so I can’t get around very much. But I also have ulcers I haven’t had pain from them since I started the diet it’s just all the gas

Yes I’m having the same problem awful. I have ulcerative colitis and it has caused a flare up I think from the fiber . It’s so frustrating

@lousy what plan are you following it purple , green, or blue as I've just signed up for ww but can't get the app to work Frist meeting tomorrow
by (150 points)
@gwyngwyneth I stopped WW in May since I am due to have a baby in 3 days lol, I’ll be back to blue right after which I believe is just like the old plan!
by (4.6k points)
@gwyngwyneth I understand that you’re due in three days but I’m going to tell you this I had three kids and you need to make sure you take enough nutrition I’m not sure if going right back on the blue plan is the best thing for you breast-feeding takes a lot out of you if you plan to do that and you will have no problem taking off any of the baby weight as long as you do what needs to be done.

@lousy Nicholson good luck with the new baby & ww

I think it's common, you are changing what you eat. Give yourself a month and it should all settle.

Make sure you're drinking plenty of water. that helps me.
by (4.6k points)
@latifundium I pretty much only drink water I don’t drink anything carbonated because I can’t stand the bubbles and I do have my coffee however nobody can take away my coffee
by (2k points)
@lousy Coffee is fine, but I drink about 90 oz of water a day and I can feel when I don't get that.

Happen to me when starting a new eating plan. I end up eating a lot more fiber, fruits and vegetables. It is a shock to your system when you completely change your diet.

The bloating comes from your body adjusting to the increased fiber in your diet. It will go away as your body gets accustomed to it.
