I guess it depends on how often you do that. but as long as it works for you, go ahead. People who do this just need to be mindful that 0 points doesn’t equal 0 calories so you are still consuming the calories in this food PLUS the alcohol. Just because the foods are “0 points” doesn’t necessarily mean you were in a calorie deficit.

The plan is built to allow this kind of thing. If people are planning properly, shedding pounds, feeling well, and their bloodwork and checkups are good, then more power to them. Not everyone is able to do things like this, but thankfully, the plan is built so that everyone can find what works for them. I was losing steadily at one point when I was being faithful to the program and I was eating all kinds of things that I loved.

I think the biggest thing with zero point Foods is to be careful of your portions, and not overeat on them. This meal clearly is not example of overeating on any of these Foods. Her portions look perfect.

@pedaias I treat myself once or twice a week. always mindful of point allowance . I’m down 12 lbs since 1/1/2020. caution always!
by (1k points)
All these statements are true. some people just can’t handle this way of eating. Some people would go crazy on 0 point foods and drink and then wonder why they can’t lose because they “stayed in their points”. a lot of people are using that as an excuse and giving up thinking the plan doesn’t work. ☹️
by (2.2k points)
@pedaias yes, I’ve seen that. The plan is not a free for all. we still need to plan ahead and be sensible about our choices!

@palaeontology . Glad you’re doing well! Keep up the good work.

Looks good to me. A gal has to have priorities!
by (8.3k points)
I ate 0 points yesterday so I could use all my points for Chinese for lunch.
by (8.3k points)
You can do whatever you want as long as you stay in your points. I don't do it every day, but my aunt wanted Chinese and I was craving peanut chicken so I opted to do this today. Last week I stayed in my points all week, then used half of my weeklies for liquor and a junior whopper. I usually meal plan and prep and space my points out through the day. But once a month, I splurge.

@longerich I do the same!

@palaeontology me too! Have a cocktail almost every night! Cheers ! lost 18 lbs since September , even with my cocktail at night!

Way to work the plan, @palaeontology. This is exactly why WW is a lifestyle and not a diet. No negative comments or “buzz kill” doubts from this girl.  cheers!

I'm curious what is drizzled on the veggies. And the whole plan is about using zeroes and points in a way that makes you happy and keeps you on track and moving forward, as @bonnee noted above.
by (110 points)
@numskull looks like spray butter possibly
by (150 points)
@numskull I use this also but, since I have no issues with it, I add a squirt or two of liquid Stevia and shake it up. I do the same with other sugar free products, especially sugar free applesauce. A little squirt of the Stevia goes a long way.

What kind of meat/fish is it with sauce on it? Looks fried or breaded
by (2.2k points)
@breadyn Strauss grilled chicken. I sprinkle with garlic salt, spray of Olive oil spray and sear in cast iron pan. I always pound the breasts to assure even cooking.
by (1.6k points)
@palaeontology yum! Thanks. Gonna try it myself. I know they are more points, but I love chicken thighs.
by (2.2k points)
@breadyn Strauss they make a sugar free catchup too. it’s good!

Looks amazing to me! Your portions look perfect, and as for using points for drinks, you have to do what makes YOU happy . if you're staying in your points and not going over your extras, you're going to lose!

This is supposed to be a "change in lifestyle", not a diet. If it means I have to give up a glass of wine or two here and there, that is not a "change of lifestyle" I am interested in! Absolutely plan for what you find pleasure in be it alcohol or a cookie once in awhile! It just won't work if you do not do that.
by (2.2k points)
@misanthrope91 agree!

Real talk: maybe because I’m old school ww. Lost my weight before chicken and corn were “zero points”. That’s a balanced and lovely meal. I’m really really bothered by WW’s decision to call it zero points. Because it’s calorically dense and leaves me questioning how one would be able to lose weight if eating zero point meals and instead using points to drink empty calories. The overall calorie intake would be too high for weight loss. ‍♀️
by (3k points)
@chemotaxis I think part of it is that the whole point system has changed. You get less points overall and items that don’t pack any real nutritional value but are filled with fat and sugar are assigned higher point values.
by (3.7k points)
@viceroy10 yeah that’s my understanding but honestly with chicken and corn, not to mention eggs “zero point” foods overeating nutritious calories is very easy
