I have the basic Arlo cameras and I'm tired of buying batteries every few months. I want to purchase rechargeable batteries. Arlo of course recommends the Tenergy brand. My question is has anyone bought the cheap rechargeable ones off Ebay and if so how are they so far? The price difference is pretty substantial. I dont mind paying for Tenergy but if the knock offs work just as good then why not? LOL Any advice or info would be appreciated! Thank you!

Cheap/no-name batteries are always a waste of money and can damage equipment if not catch fire. Pick batteries from brands you recognise (Duracell, Panasonic, Enegizer, Sony, Toshiba, etc. ) and buy from a reputable source as most batteries and memory cards from ebay sellers (or worse, Alibaba etc. ) are counterfeits.

If you have to go cheap then you might want to go with something else. Arlo isn’t exactly a cheap product nor are the things they need to be ran, or try a wired cam.

I faithfully use the EBL brand FROM Amazon, I have tried several and I get the longest charge from those.

I spent money on rechargeable CR123A batteries and a charger. Then I got an Arlo Pro camera. They come with a rechargeable battery that lasts longer between charges and the motion detection is 10x better. It also has much less lag between motion detection and recording. It also has less time between finishing recording and being ready to detect motion again. I'd reconsider spending money on rechargeables and a charger for your cameras and consider upgrading camera

@terrie Thanksng for what I need the basic cameras work great. But I would like to get a Arlo Pro for my street to detect and record plate numbers. The basic cameras have great picture quality in my eyes but not good enough to capture plate numbers. Just how much better is the quality? Thanks!

The Pro has the same 720p resolution as yours. The Pro 2 has 1080p but compression makes it only a bit better. The Pro 3 has 2K resolution and Ultra has 4K resolution. If you want number plates visible, go for the Ultra but it does require a subscription. The best subscription-free one is the Pro 2
