Just bought an Arlo go, but can not complete the installation. It begins to search fo a base which is not there. The support could not help. Any ideas?

Photo of your Arlo please. You've put a SIM card inside?

@terrie Thanksng you need to get the Sim activated. Where did you buy it. There are Arlo Go’s specific to AT&T, Verizon as well as one that I required an Arlo subscription. If your model number ends in 100 it is the AT&T model, 200 the Arlo model and the Verizon model is letters, which I don’ recall. Where you bought it should provide a hint.

@sheathbill I live in Denmark, and bought the camera in a local shop. We don’t have AT&T or Verizon here.

@unaccustomed1 ok. Find the model number. I suspect it is a 200 model which means an Arlo subscription plan. They used to buy service from AT&T (3 years ago) so not sure if it has changed. It will have a Sim which I would assume Arlo would need to get it activated. Once it is activated, you just scan your bar code that comes with your camera and it will connect to the cellular service. Once that occurs you can add it to a hub for admin purposes.

@sheathbill On the box it says S/N 51D2017TA034B. Under the barcode is 250-14800-05. Does that clarify things?

Can i use a Sim-card from an i-phone?
by (2.1k points)
@unaccustomed1 No. You will need to open the battery door and remove the battery. As I recall the model number is inside. I have been using these for 3 years, but haven’t had to deal with this particular problem since I got mine setup.

@unaccustomed1 It should end in either 100NAS or 200NAS.

Are you using iOS or Android to add to your account? Please provide version number. Make sure you select the “No QR Code” option on the first screen.

Make sure that the SIM is active and does not have a PIN on startup. Best to check it in a phone first, make sure you can access the internet etc.

Thank you for all the help. I removed the PIN-code on the SIM-card and configured the camera via the website.

@unaccustomed1 I am considering to buy a trail camera, it is triggered by motion and sends a full HD picture to the smartphone. It also works with 4G network, the quality of the pictures are great, and the monthly fees are much lower compared with a video solution camera. What do you think? I would like to know if you considered this option before and why you finally chose Arlo Go. Please, let me know your opinion.
