Yesterday morning I asked this question. Will keeping the camera constantly plugged into the mains fry the battery or the camera ? Thanks everyone, I got great replies. I also sent a pm to Arlo Smart home technical asking the same question, and they came back with this. Hello Marie, You can leave the battery inside the camera even while it is plugged in to power. It has a smart feature to not overcharge the battery once it reaches a certain limit. Regards, RM 8:02 AM Chat Conversation End

And in the event that camera loses power, the battery will kick in and continue recording to your base station if you have a UPS for your base station. You might lose internet access but local storage will still work if you have that facility and it is set up. Also being AC powered means the camera self warms slightly and it'll keep working in slightly colder conditions than if it was just on battery. Thanks for posting the reply from support (Y)

Thank you, never thought of power keeping it warm.

Battery is always in mine, untill it gets around 0°, then pull battery and it will still work to -20 at least. with battery in, even being plugged in it will not work at low temps
