Hey y’all.  We bought our Arlo Pro 2 about a week ago.Hey y’all. We bought our Arlo Pro 2 about a week ago. And I’ve noticed that sometimes the cameras won’t detect motion and start recording. I have to go into the setting a start motion tests. Is there something I can do to stop that? It’s quite annoying

Are they going across the camera screen or going directly towards the camera?

It works best if they are about 7 foot up and tilted slightly downward.

@sargasso That is odd How many cameras do you have? So if you kick start one of them it works the rest of the day? How do you know this? Are you arming it and testing or do you just leave them armed?

@sargasso ok. Never heard of this particular problem. Almost like your Hub is going to sleep or into some sort of power save mode.

@sargasso It is more the symptom. But the path to send you notices would be from the camera to the hub to thru your router to the cloud server to your notification device. Not sure what type router or internet modem you have. It would seem more likely it might be something with the Hub. Have you tried rebooting the hub as a first step.

@sargasso The yellow icon indicates motion on the camera. Dark is the normal state when the camera does not sense any motion.

Is the sensitivity set at 100?

@sargasso it should be higher than stock standard 80 if you're missing motion events. I start at 100 and every time I get a false alert within 30 mins of a previous false alert, I turn it down 1. I'd say most cameras are optimised for my mounting locations with sensitive in the low to mid 90s
