I put the majority towards my debt but I did spent some on my kids, mainly "early" birthday presents (broadway tickets and concert tickets). I bought myself a book lmao
by (990 points)
@whinny78815 that was wondful
by (7k points)
@avery5 Usually I spent a little more ion myself but this is the first year my kids really wanted something lol My 12 year old has been wanting to see this Broadway play for a couple years now so I finally got them for her and then her favorite singer is coming to concert (and she has never asked for concert tickets) so I couldn't say no lol Then my 2 year old is obsessed with Blippi so I got him tickets to see Blippi live. So even though I only bought myself a book, it was worth it to see their faces when I told them we were going

We paid off a truck, 2 cc and did some clothing shopping for the kids. This frees up 900 a month just between these 3 bills.

@lemmon it feels good right.

@avery5 oh gosh yes! Actually having a plan for this tax return has been amazing. We always did a treat your self. hubby and myself never get Christmas presents because it always went to the kids and tight on money. but this year we made a plan. I want to be debt free by Christmas this year all while planning and saving for a couple small trips. More thought out plans vs just doing. We are also trying to adjust our tax withholdings so we dont get a chunk back next year. but with kids, house, student loans its interesting. I want little but not to owe.
by (990 points)
@lemmon Yes am with you on that our tax money went to getting caught up on bills and pay and down bills. Am so ready to get out of this Dedt. I did start looking for trip for me and the hubby but they will not happen until we get our son graduation out of the way he graduates at the end of May.

by (990 points)

I paid off another credit card, paid off a loan from my mom, put 1/3 into savings toward a Disney trip, and left myself about 300 to spend on a trip I am taking next weekend

@avery5 I will do my best. No time for sight seeing this trip though I have the Social Work Month celebration/award dinner and then a board meeting. Going to hit the good steak house though at least

So far I just put money down on my car payment, repaid my mom, got my car bumper, oil change, break light fix. I’m saving for my move in for my place. I did put $1000 into my EF. Once I’m doing with getting my oil change I’m going to stuff my sinking funds and go from there.

A lot. Saving a good chunk for sinking funds, paying off one card, bulk grocery, paying car insurance for six months, paying to get my son a big boy bed and fixing up my kid's room, paying off the what is left on property taxes due.

It’s my daughters spending money for her semester abroad. She works hard in the summer for spending money at school, and has worked after school jobs since she was 11. I didn’t want her to give up this opportunity because she needed to work.

1/3 will go towards my kitchen (it flooded in September), 1/3 to savings and 1/3 for fun stuff assuming we actually get it. My husband has an offset so they may seize our refund.
