So we recently found out our insurance won’t be keeping us when it terms on the 23rd because we’ve had 3 claims since we’ve been with them since mid 2000s 1 break in & 2 leaks. I never knew that could happen. We’re so sad because we had a great premium with First Insurance. It was for our house insurance including hurricane & 2 cars, one of them full coverage. We paid roughly around $300 every 3 mos (I will double check and update if needed) and the cheapest our agent can find now will be over $700 ever 3 mos I really need to go shopping! Who do you have your house and/or car ins with? We’re in Hawaii

When you make claims- especially that many, insurance is going to go up, no matter who you’re with. You may need to change your deductible to a higher amount to be able to afford it- and not use it! It sucks, but it’s how it works unfortunately.

We don't own our house, but definitely shop around. We currently have Island Insurance for our van. $98/month. We had State Farm for the longest time. After I got into an accident, we shopped around and had First Insurance. They were gonna increase (I forget why) and so we shopped around again and ended up choosing what we have now, Island Insurance.

I had the same thing with state farm. We have had them since 1997. In 2010 and 2012 we called to have our roof looked at. Adjuster said it was fine. No payout. In 2013. We had a leak. Adjuster said it wasn't from the roof. Said the furnace chimney pipe was cracked. They gave us a check for 700 to repaint the room. In 2016 called again about the roof after a hail storm. After meeting with 3 adjusters they decided to fix the house roof but denied the garage. In 2018. The garage roof had a big hole in it after a storm. When I called they said we had to many claims and they were dropping us. Technically only 2 claims since the others were never paid out. We paid out of pocket for the garage. And switched to all state and actually saved $700 a year with 2 cars and our house.

Insurance companies want you to buy insurance but they sure don't want you to use it.

@copywriter Exactly! So quick to take our money but makes it hard when we need them! And. all 3 claims were situations out of our control. It wasn’t claims used on our cars because of speeding or DUI which would be our own fault, so I’d understand if that were the case‍♀️ Homes don’t last forever. It’s sad that it’s the reality of insurance

@copywriter totally agree, with that being said, if you’re paying $1500 a year and have multiple payouts in a ten year period of time, they’re losing money. It should be a lesson to people that don’t realize - a small repair or claim is NEVER worth it- they will not only get that money back in coming years’ premiums, but may drop you.
