Our lease is almost over, and we aren't renewing this year. We need to move to a larger place , due to a new baby. After looking at places in NJ , the amount it would cost us for security and 1st months rent, it would be the same as a down payment to BUY! My husband and I have decided to buckle down hard, cut out the extras, and save as much as we can. Throw as much money as possible to debt. All of our tax return will go to our down payment. I still want to entertain our kids and do things as a family. I have a sinking fund for our camping trips for the summer. We have all the supplies so we would just pay for the space and food. Any suggestions for cheap or free things to do with young children!?!? And for date nights ? For VDay , we are cooking steaks I got on sale at home together. total $11 for VDay lol! Win!

Check out library and city park offerings. We do lots on the cheap that way.

We do a lot of crafts and different kid friendly experiments at home. We also go to the library and indoor trampoline parks

I'm not sure how old but making pizzas together is fun and a 2 in 1 cost (dinner and an activity). Slumber party movie night. Library always has fun things. A dollar theatres?

We do the Library a few times a week. Where we love there is a sports center that has turf time for kids under a certain age. Its like $4 a kid and they can run around and they have toys and a bounce house for the kids to play with. Maybe look in your area for something like that? In the summer, parks and school play grounds!
