Technically, nothing, but for precaution I had gotten my daughter a passport and also brought a copy of: birth certificate, social security card, health insurance, and a signed letter from dad showing he agreed to the travel (I take a lot of trips alone with my daughter). I'm sure that's excessive, but I wanted to be prepared for anything.

I believe you need the Birth certificate.

If you’re traveling within the US, we didn’t need anything when our son was 2.

Nothing but I always traveled with my daughter’s birth certificate.

Same, technically nothing is required but we always travel with his birth certificate just in case.
