Really hoping someone can help me with an answer here . I started running a brand new ad last night and in less than 12 hours Facebook says that ad has been responsible for 8 purchases. my e-commerce store has only had 6 purchases in total since that ad started. How is this possible?
Really hoping someone can help me with an answer here .

Sounds fishy

@recommendatory10 it’s not the first time I’ve had reason to believe Facebook inflates it’s numbers

@stymie sounds like a potential lawsuit

Pixel is just firing twice on 2 of your sales. nothing to fix. I have had it correct itself in past

@beachlamar91202 how can I tell if it corrects itself?

You can fix this by creating a two step conversion event: order page AND order confirmation page.

@beachlamar91202 also, this isn’t the only ad I’m running. So I also doubt it’s responsible for all 6 sales I’ve had so far, let alone the “8” it states it’s responsible for

@bookmaker I will do research on that. thank you

I have personally never installed a purchase pixel on a funnel and not sure what platform you are using but definitely test what @bookmaker suggested as I have never had to do anything special for it to correct itself

@bookmaker could this be the reason? Should I remove one of the events?

Give it a day or two and see if it corrects itself. If not email support

Okay so now it’s saying 11 purchases when I’m still only on 6.

If I am targeting people who made a purchase over the weekend (before I set my ad up), and they happen to see my ad now but don’t actually click and make another purchase, will Facebook possibly attribute their previous purchase to the new ad?

Could this have anything to do with my conversion window?

Are you using any upsells that are triggering the extra events?

No I am not

Have you looked at unique purchases?
by (600 points)
Okay so purchases are on 17 whilst unique is on 8 .

@stymie then you have something double firing the pixel. Maybe ppl refreshing the thank you page or checking their order/shipping status
