Look up Frenchic Paint. fantastic paint and easy to use. Plenty of advice on their forum. Sand door down, sugar soap and paint frenchic paint.

You could use paint stripper, it will strip the paint back to it's original colour, it doesn't cost too much either! X

@puryear9415 Thankyou, even though it is black gloss paint? X
by (480 points)
@highchair Yeah, paint stripper is usually used to get rid of paint off a car, so it's relatively potent but it will do the job! X

@puryear9415 Thankyou xx

@puryear9415 if it’s a plastic door dont use paint stripper it will eat through the plastic x
by (250 points)
Jaz if your going to use paint stripper I might be better to remove the door from the hinges and do it flat we use that on cars and if it gets on your skin then it will give you serious burns. But it's upvc so its only really used metals, x

@rangel not if it’s a plastic door it will eat through it
by (720 points)
It will eat through a pvc door . don't it back and use the correct paint
by (240 points)
Nitromors is only suitable if door is wood, it's for stripping paints and varnish but not on upvc doors
by (480 points)
@phillada this is true. Sorry I shud of said. It cud only be use on wooden or metal doors not upvc cheers peeps

Is it a wooden door?
by (610 points)
by (1.9k points)
@highchair if the paint is dry i would sand it. Clean it well, make sure its dust free. Then prime it with B. I. N. and re paint. Not in direct sunlight though
by (1.9k points)
@highchair oh and make sure your paint is properly mixed. The gloss should be fine

Give it a light sand back to smooth it out and buy frenchic paint in blackjack.

@binary thanks may be the best option x

Is it composite or upvc?

by (690 points)
If the door is a composite door which it looks like it is nitro mors will ruin the door. the whole idea of composite is you do not have to paint them.

If the door is wood the nitomors will work. If it’s plastic UPVC then it will eat the paint and the door. Keep it off the door surround and make sure you completely clean it all off before you finish. It will Reck your frame if it comes in contact

That's going to be some work getting that off.

Composite doors are plastic coated. you need to be very careful
by (610 points)
@rarefaction I’m going to sand it down the best that I can and use the frenchic x

Maybe just use a sander on the paint and then repaint?
by (610 points)
@experientialism8224 that’s the best option x

Try a little nail varnish remover on a part see if it loosens it at all. Circular motions

Pressure washer

This is also a good idea but needs to be a very high pressure one.

****Do not use any acids on this door! **** Is the door solid or composite and what paint did you use?

It’s a composite door paint stripper will ruin it if you are not careful. Also sanding will lose the grain on the door and will ruin the top coat. Best bet is try a heat gun gently or apply paint stripper a small amount at a time and take it off sharpish.

Sand it down to make it a bit rough then use this. mine was black gloss it is now a lovely grey shade. from this to this using this. the back door is still black. i did the front door last week and i sprayed the gold accessories to silver.

It’s not the paint as such that was wrong it’s the way you’ve applied it. It’s not been stirred properly and you’ve put it on too thick. Gently sand it all, heavier sand in the really built up areas of paint and repaint. You need to get a good surface no matter what you recoat it with. Sanding seems to be the only option without ruining the door entirely.

You cant really paint Pvc doors. Everyone I've seen looks pretty bad. Better off just getting a vinyl wrap if anything?

Sand it flat and start again. Nitromors barely touches paint anyway, so I'm not sure it'll be anything like the alien's saliva in Alien . If it were wood I'd use a gas blower.
