I tried doing this with carrots and they went mushy. now i realise that I had them upside down. duh. I will try again. x

Can anyone give me any advice on how to fix my canopy (no idea if it has a real name ) it’s clearly seen better days and I have no issue with sanding it down to repaint but I think it’s just normal timber and I think one of its feet could do with been replaced.
