Geraniums! Bright coloured flowers with lots of green leaves. They grow about 45cm high, can withstand heat and don't die if you dont water daily! Would look lovely against your house colour.

@townspeople thanks sound good need easy maintenance with work and five kids and I am not great with the garden yet let's say a work in progress lol
