I worked in a hotel and they were throwing the large fridge from the bar and i turned it in to a raised bed and after 14 years still does it's job.

Iv just bought a load of tanalised 6x2 boards to make a raised bed. Its going to be 4mx1m and three boards high

We used railway sleepers. Looks great, but can't sit on them due to the oil x

Railway sleepers are a bad idea the oil you talk about also seeps into the soil and isn't goid for the plant

If you are on a very tight budget you can get hold of some pallets, take them apart and use the wood from them.

Yep really easy with sleepers and also not to expensive
