While personally I leave a few around for the bees (and because I like the flowers anyway) I'm not going to echo the dandelion defence squad since it's your space and it's up to you what you want and don't want there, and it can become frustrating when it starts taking over your lawn. There are various lawn friendly weedkillers you can try, although honestly the best way (and most nature-friendly way) is to dig them out by hand. Maybe move a few to pots if you don't want bees protesting with placards outside your house

Eh? So you think the bees know to avoid the poison on your lawn?! They’re clever little things but they’re not bloody geniuses

Jenness bees go where nectar is, and not weedkiller, I choose to keep my lawn weed free, my choice.

They ingest weed killer from dandelions. It kills them. They are an endangered species. But yes, your choice, but a terrible one.

I leave all flowers in the lawn and now fortnightly. We only get a few bug problems as the eco system is strong. Great biodiversity . Bees, hoverflies, birds , butterflies . The whole kaboodle. It's like Snow White on steroids.

the seeds can be in the mower. If he’s mowed a lawn with dandelions then yours you’ll get some. Happened to my sister after she loaned out her mower.

You need to get them out with all the root with small hand spade. I hand dug 4 black bags worth last year before we seeded a new lawn. There back but not as bad. It’s quite therapeutic getting them out with the whole root like digging for carrots!
