I really want to fit decking, but I keep doubting I will be able to do it? Any females beginners managed this by themselves? Any tips would be great, thanks x

I have done my own decking and built sheds. I found that to build the underneath frame that your decking sits on ensure you plan out and put breeze blocks dug into ground and level so you decking is level do the prep first use a long piece of wood and spirit level to ensure frame work is level (also consider a slight incline so water runs off and doesn't pool on the decking. I am talking a very small incline. don't forget to put weed surpressant down before you lay the frame and any cuts you make buy a tin of wood sealant to paint on cut edges so they don't rot. Leave a gap when you lay decking and lay everything out before you put it together. Good luck you will be really pleased with yourself when you have done it. Check out youtube for further info x

I did mine 2 years ago, it was pretty hard but I did it, and it's still solid, I'm just cleaning it and ready to stain it

If you watch wickes videos on how to’s in the garden. They’re mostly women. I laid a patio from this video and I’m a total beginning. x

It's not too bad if you have the right tools and patience. Watch the how to videos like Wickes and on You Tube and plan everything. re check all your measurements before starting. I ordered a little extra decking from the local timber yard. it was cheaper than the DIY stores and free delivery. It's hard work but worth it

I did mine 2 years ago - a raised one and it was hard but if you have the right tools, anything is possible.
