Any idea what could be eating my daughters runner beans? Does anyone recognise the spraint nearby, could thus be the culprit? What to do, she doesn’t want to use anything harmful.

I would say the poo isn’t related the the beans getting eaten tbh! I would say slugs or snails ! Broken eggs shells round them will help! U think if a rabbit or deer had been nibbling at them you wouldn’t have any left by now ! ‍♀️

Maybe try to make a cage around it from wire mesh, if not can it be raised higher?

That looks like hedgehog poo. They'll be actually getting rid of the slugs! Try some egg shells or a sprinkle of used cafetiere coffee on the soil. Pull up the grass/weeds around the plants you wish to grow and sprinkle away oxxxx

If they’re growing in a tub or raised bed you can buy copper tape to put round the outside that’s supposed to work.

@aleris it doesn’t work.

@aleris yes I use this around my hosts pots and not one nibble for the last couple of years!

@coastline i did wonder, I’ve never used it myself.

@aleris the sun melted the glue on the back of the copper and it fell off. Tub was full of slugs. sprinkled dried egg shells are your best bet, or dried coffee grounds.

Droppings look like rabbits damage on plants looks like slugs some times if you put some old 2p’s and lp’s round your plants this can work as slug deterrent also slices of cucumber in foil trays like you get on bottom of shop bought pies etc.
