No cons here. No weeds, no smell from the dog, doesn’t get too hot in the summer, hasn’t faded (3 years down) and hasn’t flattened (we do hoover it every now and then in the summer so this may help). Hasn’t effected the wildlife in our garden as we have plenty of flower borders, trees and veggie patch. The hedgehog doesn’t seem to mind it at all and all the nesting birds don’t either

We have a north facing garden where the lawn saw the sun for about 2 weeks a year. It was a squishy mess unless we had over a week of warm weather. Now we use it all the time! It’s made an extra room for us, the kids build train tracks and everything on it with no worries of indoor toys getting dirty

I love our artificial grass, the only maintenance I do is give it a wash down will jeyes fluid or some watered down bleach every so often because of the dog doing a wee on it. Xx

Pros: Low maintenance, looks 'nice' Cons: Kills Bees, more plastic to recycle

I moved into a house with artificial grass, so not my choice, but noticed that we get a lot of weeds at the borders and coming up randomly in the green. I've also heard it breeds fleas, and we've got a couple of ants nests at the borders. Also a huge pain with flowers that shed leaves (e. g. lavender) as you have to spend a lot of time sweeping it. Personally I wouldn't go for it - natural grass is better for the environment and much easier to deal with if you keep on top of it!

Excuse the mess. It's great if it's layed properly mine wasn't (by so called professional) so it's stupidly bumpy and when it rains it gets muddy and its all coming up round the edges. It also STINKS because they put it straight on soil without proper drainage so any wee or poo just sits on the grass. I was and brush it regularly now the weather is better and brought a proper artifical grass cleaner and it's a bit better. But it needs to be done properly

If your physically able to cut grass grow your own as that’s the only disadvantage. The sun fades the colour and the blades of grass flatten over time. Fake grass is usually very expensive and after trying it not for me.

I've posted my pics in the thread So PROS ●Always cut ●Less hassle no weed and feed ●Always garden party ready ● low maintenance garden ●No shed so storage for a mower ●Dont have to move all the furniture and pots all the time to cut and tidy around ● no mud and bits getting in my spa water ● This area of the garden is raised and previous people buried the bricks from house under it  so no grass will grow very nice at all so this was the perfect solution CONS ● not natural ● can get a bit hot in height of summer so need flip flops ● not good for babies small kids as gets hot ● expensive sometimes

We brought this artificially grass 6years ago had it laid by a professional. We moved 3years ago and taken it up laid this ourselfs. Equally as good do it yourselfs id say. Also we have a dog that wee on it i chuck a bucket of water with disinfectant onit once a week as it can smell

I love mine and as much as I love real grass with a big dog and 4 kids my garden looked a bit like the moon . It makes life so much easier, no mowing, can hoover it to keep it tidy. Useable all year round no mud walked through the house or into the spa. Dog can't dig it and no holes from playing football! Downsides are I have to clean it so it doesnt smell where the dog has weed on it and it gets hot in the summer. I find just keeping it hosed down through out in the summer helps a lot though. Cats don't come into my garden though so I can't answer that x

No grass cutting, doesn't get patchy near shade, great for those with heyfever, looks good if you get nice stuff. Not environmentally friendly. Need to keep dirt of and remove any growing seedlings prompt. It can get smelly, but I've put some stuff underneath that soaks up and seals odour. To be fair had for a year and doesn't smell.

We love our artificial grass, quick roam round with the poo bags when the pooches go out and the odd hose down. We don't need to hoseit that often, were in Glasgow and it rains 350 days a year.

Give the cats a corner or a section with fresh dirt in it. Cats like to scratch up and bury.

The dog had pretty much killed my grass & I got fed up with trying to rescue it  It also took me longer to get the mower out of the shed than it did to cut the grass! Doesn’t get as hot as I thought it would even though my garden is south facing. The dog loves it! Can get a bit smelly at times but a good wash down sorts that. No problems with the dog walking mud into the house when it’s raining either. I bought an artificial grass rake for about £20 & it’s great for lifting the pile

I have it and my cat or any other cats that pass through the garden don't poo on it.
