Wind, sun or frost damage. Ours is in part shade and much happier

My acer has been in full sun and loves it , can't see properly but the pot looks too small.

I had it in the ground, somewhere else int he garden and it went like this. It was fairly windy. I’ve just put it in a pot temporarily to find it a happy spot.

Looks like it’s got too much sun. Can you take it off and put in a slightly shaded area? Keep watering also

Too much sun not enough water and needs to be in a place where wind isn't too strong. Repot now and add some compost through.

My ACER used to go like that when it rained and then the sun came out leafs would shrivel up
