Been to Morrisons today and bought loads of plants, bargain at £2 a tray or £3 for 2! Anyway, I bough busy Lizzie's, marigolds, geraniums and a hanging basket selection. Are I right in thinking busy Lizzie's spread and marigolds grow tall? I'm thinking of putting them in my pots and some geraniums in the hanging baskets along with the hanging basket selection

If u have a big space to fill I'd get a lavatera plant mine is really big. and also a bleeding heart plant mine has shot up from nowhere this year .

@progression25996 it's just pots to fill now as it's mostly grassed. I do like the bleeding hearts though, might have to get Mike to buy me another pot

@alex99 I got these from Scarborough one. They had a lot there and it's separate to the store so you don't have to queue x

Just make sure you use something to keep the slugs/snails away from your marigolds or your end up with just stalks

@therapy thank you! I'll put some egg shells down

@prophecy or grit anything that's rough so they cant slide dont use salt near plants or your end up killing both plants and slugs I know I tried it !

@therapy I have plenty of eggs so I'll make the kids pancakes for breakfast then I have the shells

Geraniums grow tall. African marigolds grow taller than French marigolds or the tagetes variety.

@milan so should I swap geraniums and busy lizzes round?

@prophecy your marigolds should be ok at the back of your hanging baskets. I'd put the busy lizzies and geraniums in pots
