No, use decking oil.

Painting decking is the work of the devil, it'll need redoing every year and it'll never look as good as the first time. All it needs is oil to keep it looking as good as it does now x

Paint the fence but just treat the decking with an oil. I painted mine and wish I hadn't now. Looks great x

Oil the decking and paint the fences to protect them. I chose dark oak as i wanted to stick to colours found in nature whilst giving it a modern look.

We painted our decking and was the worst decision we ever made. Was meant to last 4 years but had all chipped in 4 months

I am on the side of staining wood to bring out the beautiful natural grain. :)

Definitely paint it! It’ll only end up discoloured and going rotten

You will need to treat it, so paint it. Not all fence paint is tacky
by (660 points)
@itacolumite your right , there is such variety of colours now far from tacky .

Ours was laid a year ago so we left it as advised , and did this 2 weeks ago. After much research we chose Liberon clear decking oil . it’s not turned out clear though, but we like it .

Use creosote substitute, doesn’t peel & crack like paint, my 10yr old shed still looks new with it. x

Use decking oil rather than paint. Used it on ours for years then switched to paint, biggest regret x

Please please don't paint your decking! Speaking from first hand experience you will forever regret it. Seal it! It will look amazing xxx
