Question

May sound like stupid question but if I wanted to lay clippings do I need to put something down first or just put them on the soil?

I used to buy a few rolls of bin liners and put them down Dont leave any spaces or the weeds will come through

U put membrane down first

You would be best to put a membrane down to stop weeds coming through.

Membrane down. In a years time you will have just grass if not.

U need to put down permiable membrane as water needs to seep through so you dont get flooded but weeds need to not get through

Better off using the black roll of membrane as news paper just turns to mush any Diy sell it
