You can plant up if you protect from frost. I wrap my baskets in bubble wrap when there’s a frost coming.

I was say leave it till the beginning on May. But you could start now and hang them inside a garage window or conservatory. Dont forget to water them.

Ive spring bedding in mine ill change when they die off to summer bedding. I use mine all year round and change as seasons do. never had a problem

The northern saying 'divvent cast ya cloot till the May's oot' doesn't mean the end of May. it means until the May bush flowers. About 3rd week of May I reckon for summer bedding plants.
