Can someone show me a photo of perennials please? Tried to Google it but came up with loads of different flowers! I'm no good with names. Next door is self isolating and she has depression. My partner helped her build her storage garden box, she said she would love some flowers. We've been getting her some shopping. so thought we would make her a little happier with some flowers for her garden as she has all the stuff just no flowers! Xx
Can someone show me a photo of perennials please?

Ohh okay! Thankyou! That explains why I was getting all sorts trying to Google it haha! Thankyou so much! We have a few local people delivering flowers round our area to our doors, so we was thinking of getting her loads so she has something to do, because she can't go out! Thankyou so much for your help! ❤❤

@coulee they will likely be annual bedding plants. If you have a Morrisons near you, they have a decent plant section, and it tells you on the packaging if they are perennial or annual. Bulbs are perennials but you will need to be sure they are summer bulbs and they will need planting straight away to flower this year, just now it will probably be spring bedding that's being sold, but it gives you instant colour, some seeds can be sewn now for summer bedding, you'll get those in supermarkets too and it tells you on the back when to sow and when they flower.

There’s loads Perennials hun it isn’t a plant it just means it comes up every year  (daffodil bulbs are an example) there’s perennials and annuals (they only last a year) xx

I think perennial means a flower that comes back every year. Its not the name of a specific flower more a type of flower. Maybe call your local nursery as many are delivering at the mo and can tell you what's best to get too:)

Yeah it is flowers which come back every year, as opposed to annuals which die and biannual which flower every other year.

Perennials are a group of flowers/plants that come up year after year. Annuals don’t survive the winter.

@tate14 Bless her, she's a little older and has health issues so has been inside her home since all of this started, she suffers with depression too. She usually just wants milk and galaxy chcolate when we knock and ask if she needs anything bless her. Her son does come and get her shopping but I think he lives a little further away. My partner was home today and saw the delivery man come and spoke to her and helped her build her outside storage box for her, he also fixed her doors which had a issue today. She's a lovely lady! She told my partner it was her birthday yesterday so we was thinking of buying her some flowers so she has something to do. She told me she has been cooped up watching tv and that's all. So thought it will give her something to do and get her in some fresh air in the sunshine! X

Herbs are lovely rosemary thyme and safe. Good for cooking and last all year and smell Devine. Add some chives and some marigolds and nigellas and trailing lobelia and bingo a lovely area to sit out in

It's too early for the pretty summer bedding that is appearing in the shops now. These must be kept frost free, and there is always a risk of a frost until nearly the end of May. Perennials are plants and shrubs that will/might die back and re-grow the following years - these plants don't look pretty yet. Read the labels and look on the RHS web site for their how-to plan your planting guides. Do you want to dig a border or plant in tubs? Or make a raised bed depending on budget? If you buy pots/tubs, always get the biggest she can afford, and make sure they are frostproof. Without knowing the soil and the aspect, it is hard to recommend specifics. but it is lovely that you are helping your neighbour

Perennials simply mean flowers that come back on their own every year. That is why you saw so many. They are usually marked at the garden center. Annuals are usually only for one year.
