Best answer
I normally just stick them in a pot still attached to the plant until the roots form then cut it off from the plant ☺️

Don't cut the babies off, just peg them down into another pot of compost next to the parent plant they will soon root and you can then cut them off x

Cut the shoot from the mother plant and set in a small cup or glass of water until there are 2/3 inches of roots growing then transfer to soil, sometimes I’ve forgotten about babies and they have sat happily in a glass off water for a few months before being planted

I took the plunge with mine. Cut them off and planted into small pots with compost. Watered in. Within a week huge roots poking out the bottom of the pots. Absolutely no fancy way other than stuffing it in the pot and hoping for the best. Mine are kept in a warm sunny conservatory. X

I used to pot it and keep it attached to the mother plant until it established itself. Never failed to work.

Do not cut off either out the babies in water till they riot then cut them off and plant up, or plant up next to mother until they are established then cut them from mum

My creative 11 year old asd daughter picked a spider plant at wales zoo when she was 5 roots still attached and now we have lots of babies plants. Plant them in a small pot still attached to the mummy plant until they get big another we gave a lot to the teachers/ support teacher before the children break up for the summer hoildays. Best time to transfer them is spring/ summer

If you don't cut them off they will still survive. If you want to root it you can put the baby in a plant pot of soil so the base of the baby is covered in soil, with it still attached to the mother. Cut when it feels rooted. Or you can cut it off mid long hanging stem, and plant in soil that way. I've grown loads of baby spiders that way, and only one hasn't taken.
