Yeah don’t build it out of brick. Too many people are caught in exploding brick incidents due to thinking they’re clever making a fire pit out of bricks

Why would anyone have a fire pit so close to the fence? Even if it’s treated. too risky IMO. plus. you’re supposed to sit AROUND the fire pit xD haha

@papal says who? Fire pits just for display. Got a patio heater
by (410 points)
@escarole Then why even have it if you’re not gonna use it lmao
by (1.3k points)
@papal it’s going to be lit. It’s a nice feature to have

Move it away from the fence would be a start. Treat the fence with what exactly? ‍♀️ I swear people post stuff like this to get a reaction sometimes. Or is it just stupidity?

All I'm gonna say is if I was your neighbor it don't matter what you treat the fence with I'd be over the fence with a hose every day. Total disregard for other people having it that close to fencing.

@palestine Thanksler Parks there’s a 1200mm gap between my fence and my neighbours and a grass verge on the other. Get off ur high horse

There’s a 400mm gap on both fence sides. I plan to dig down inside the pit to deepen the hole. The fence is fine

It’s dangerous to build a fire pit out of ordinary bricks. They aren’t designed to take the heat. That’s why fire bricks exist.

@riband9545 mine ain't had a problem in 6 years
by (490 points)
Doesn’t mean it won’t.
by (940 points)
They wont if ya dont have massive bonfires
