What are your thoughts on a client’s website not showing pricing for their products? Does it make sense for us to send thousands and thousands of people to websites where they aren’t able to view the most important information?

@odlo just curious on the pros of not showing it? My client’s reason for not showing pricing is they do not want competition seeing their pricing. Can you give me an example of a good reason to not show pricing.

@kinsler your client might just be paranoid, I have no idea! But I can see reasons not to display prices on Trade/Wholesale websites. Also for customised items where a From price would be better. also in the same trade/customised sector, there will be many factors to determine the best price. so. hope you get the gist. But if your client is selling cans of Coke. and he is ADAMANT not to list price. make sure you get paid a %age of adspend and knock yourself out.

Ask your client what negative effect showing pricing has had on Amazon.

If I see no price, if it's a product or service 100% of the time I'll leave and search for another website. I don't have time to fill out a form and wait for someone to get back to me with a price. Most people these days are ready to commit or buy on the spot when they are searching so you don't want to delay that and miss out on the window of opportunity.

Depends on the qualification process and when they're shown the price.

You know what’s the answer to all your challenges when it comes to “clients wants/does this but I’m not sure”? AB test. Create a landing page with prices, and one without, drive traffic and see conversions, measure LTV. Show client results and benefits, show the risks and costs involved and how to minimise, and ask them what they prefer.

There are reasons to not show price. Avoiding imapp agreement violations. Long conversion windows, informative and authoritative wins. Some multi touch sales processes. Technically heavy products or services. There are many more and different variations of the aforementioned. But, if their reason is to hide from competitors. naive. Can competitors not call and find out? Fill out a lead form and find out? If that is truly the reason, you should test it as @michamichael mentioned.
