If you are in an HOA community with a swimming pool, has your HOA announced whether the pool will open this season, and if so, what possible modifications may be expected?

The pools need to wait to hear from IDPH. Centennial Beach has a decent chance of opening since it’s considered open water. They should hear from IDPH next week

There will be a bunch of guidelines though

@actinomycosis says nothing for the public bathrooms and lockerooms where it actually has better chance to spread

@actinomycosis are chemicals such as chlorine added at Centennial to kill bacteria ?
by (5.6k points)
@amplitude7599 yes. It’s not required but they do

Although chlorination may not be technically required at Centennial, there is no other viable alternative as the water must remain fresh and parasite/bacteria free, as it is a public facility. It's designation of a "beach" by the IDPH does not relieve the city of Naperville of certain "pool" water quality and safety requirements. Quote from the website: "Yes – our staff tests the water 2-3 times daily to monitor chlorine levels and pH balance. We typically follow swimming pool regulations with regard to water quality standards. On a weekly basis, our water is sampled and tested by an independent laboratory to ensure that the water quality is being maintained. "

Ours said they are doing everything possible to open (it’s privately owned) and that they’re waiting on the IDPH as well.

South Point is taking a wait and see stance, and hoping for a June opening. and is still requiring payment for this year's dues. We'll see - we're all in a tough spot given the lack of specific guidance from the state.

People plz don't rely on the biased and personal opinion of another. Make your own decisions that you are comfortable with. There is no single remedy that works for everyone.

@collocutor1795 so you are saying hygiene has gone down now? People may be washing less?
by (1.3k points)
@valene4 I can only hope that this has been a real wake up call.
by (5.5k points)
@collocutor1795 only two possibilities less it’s super viable on surfaces and and we all are going to get it. or it’s spread in air like they admitted today
by (1.3k points)
@valene4 whaaaat? Heck no.
by (5.5k points)
@collocutor1795 they finally admitted they knew it would reduce transmission by up to 60% wearing simple masks but it was an honest noble lie to save resources for healthcare. Please stay with us
