For those who have had carpal tunnel surgery. I have to have it on just my right hand (my dominant one). I have a 2 year old who I am home with all day normally. She is not potty trained and still in a crib. My husband can only take one day off to care for her. How doable will this be for me? I am nervous about taking care of her the day after surgery.

I have had the surgery and traveled the very next day. The actual carpal tunnel pain is much worse than the surgery. You will feel immediate relief!

I couldn't pick up anything over 20 pounds for a few weeks. I did a lot with my left hand.

I would suggest getting her a toddler bed. less lifting. if she is still during diaper changes. Use the floor. Getting into car seat depends on car and if she can climb. (I had back issues. so the kids climbed). but can you put on seatbelt properly with one hand. ?

With carpal tunnel, the doctor may have mentioned that there is a point of no return and if you wait too long, the damage will be permanent and even surgery won't be able to fix it. Maybe temporarily you'll have to put the mattress on the floor or have a toddler bed.

I think it depends how severe it is because my mom’s hand is taking quite a while to heal. She’s a diabetic and in her 60s which slows healing.
