I’ve got a Ring Steplight in the back of my mailbox. Both network to bridge and from bridge to steplight are green. I’ve got the sensitivity set to ten, which is the highest, but it isn’t sensitive enough to be successful. You can throw mail in the box without triggering the motion alarm. I have to open the box and wave vigorously at it to get the alarm to fire. I’ve got it dead center in the back of the mailbox facing the door so I’m pretty sure that is good. Any suggestions to improve the situation? Anyone ever hear of ring support able to increase sensitivity outside the application somehow?

Not good application for this based upon how PIR works

@mountfort1339 I found it described on a post in this site, which is why I tried it. Reading up on PIR right now, it sounds like it is looking for temperature changes, which explains why I need to put my hand in there. LOL, Mail probably won’t do it unless it is on fire. Back to the drawing board.

Try a door sensor on the door itself. That’s what most people do for mailbox notifications.
