Has anyone make something that extends their doorbell base? My door bell only sees the one side of my porch due to the brick next to my door frame. I was thinking something could be added to the back of the doorbell to prop it up/extended it out about 2 inches. Anyone have any ideas? Its a ring pro so its hardwired and I cant relocate the wires.

Could try using a wedge kit. Or even a DIY project, extra thick piece of door trim or even a small piece of a 2x4. Drill a hole in the middle for the wires and paint it to match. Then mount!

@hilel thats what i was thinking to try too. Cut a piece of wood and mount it on there. I know my doorbell wires are long enough.

The wedge might be too thin

@gopherwood seeing from the pic, the wedge kit may not be enough. It only bring it out maybe an inch, inch and a half even if you stacked them. Might have to use a block of wood, and then the wedge kit to get the proper angle.

Mine has to wedges. I sanded it down so it turns the camera at an angle and points it down some at the same time.

@gopherwood no I meant a mirror on the brick where you see brick in photo, see what the mirror reflects next to the ring

You should have an angle plate that came with your doorbell. Look in the box.

@ragwort my doorbells at least 3 years old i dont believe they came with the plates when they first came out

This is what my box looked like

@gopherwood Can you just use a piece of 1" thick board and mount your door bell to that? I did that with mine because of the unevenness of the siding.

@ragwort that is what Im going to try if the angle plate i purchased tonight on amazon doesnt work.

You'd need to use two angle kits in opposite directions so you can extend the ring parallel to the wall. Then once if can see past the brick if you wanted, you can add more angle pieces to turn the doorbell left or right to get a better view. Or you could PVC, wood or anything that is for exterior use to act as a spacer to help bring the doorbell see past the brick. But one angle kit will not cut it.
