Thanks for adding me!  I started the day very excited about ordering and setting up a ring system. Thanks for adding me! I started the day very excited about ordering and setting up a ring system. After joining a few of these FB groups and talking to customer service, we were sure we were ready to go. Now we are so confused and frustrated. ‍♀️. I was told today by the ring customer service agent that the ring 3 has facial recognition and that it’s launching tomorrow. I was super surprised because nothing I read said it has this new feature. I posted on another page and several ring users assured me that this is indeed false information. Can anyone else give helpful input? Oh and I was also told that I’d get 20% off of our purchase because I work as a Para at a school. He told me over and over that all I’d need to do is put in my email to get the discount code. When I went to actually do it, that wasn’t the case at all. I’m feeling defeated and totally frustrated. ‍♀️

Hello! I can certainly understand your frustration and I would feel the same. First, the ring 3 is coming out, the only people that will have product info is an internal ring/Amazon employee. 2. You absolutely will get 20% just make sure to use your school email (. edu) for everything ring related. 3 call and ask to speak with sales or a supervisor. Piece of advice, half these people think they know everything about ring but don’t have a clue. So call them back when you’re ready and just be sure to speak again to sales or a supervisor.

@wittol thank you! It’s asking for a lot more than just my email. I don’t have a license number etc. it wants all documents uploaded. ‍♀️. Should I try getting the discount under the Student option?

@vibrate , you can try that! They really shouldn’t make it that difficult!

@pentosan53231 thank you! I’m a teacher - wish I’d known about the discount. At least I know for my next Ring purchase.

@evania yes ma’am, use it all the time. It’s a great way to use it. If you’re a protect subscriber then you also get the 10%, then get the 20%.

RVD3 hasn’t been released yet and as far as I know is still in testing. Do yourself a favor, if you can hardwire a doorbell (you have an existing one already), then get the Doorbell Pro. It’s light years ahead of the RVD 1, 2, and I’m guessing the 3 as well. If you choose to get the Pro, also buy the required transformer: . You can also buy that size transformer on Amazon for lower, but with the 20% off it’s a good price.

@pentosan53231 we have the ring pro doorbell. We’ve had it for about 3 years. It’s hardwired. is this transformer something newer than 3 years? I’m just wondering if i have one or need one. Lol what’s it for exactly? I do like my ring doorbell but sometimes it seems slow to respond. Just wondering if this transformer would help that?

@dissertation it alleviates power issues and also connectivity issues due to power problems. You can check your house doorbell transformer and see if it’s the right size. My house was built in 12/2017 and mine was incorrect. I had to upgrade mine, too low of voltage can cause internal power issues with the Pro.

I'll be more impressed with Ring when they get on board with 4k.
