Ever since the Ring Pro was installed, the doorbell chime in the house has been "shortened" to a quick ding. Can this be changed? App is setup right. Wondering if the power adaptor is doing something?

I had to install a new transformer (30VA or higher) for the PRO to work and control the indoor chime

Did you upgrade the trans? 16v-30va is required.

@lemur it has a 24 now.

Mmmm, in the app, you have it set a mech chime? call ring and they will help too.

@lemur everything is set correctly as verified with ring. Didn’t know if it’s normal or something is up?

@astolat The VA rating is equally important it’s like watts. Not enough watts and it doesn’t work properly.

Don’t get me wrong, it still rings in the house, just has a shorter ring now.

@astolat do you mean it used to "ding-dong" and now it just goes "ding"? It's possible you misconnected the wiring in the bell. Most bells are set up to have two different rings, depending on which terminal you connect to. The idea being you can have a front and back doorbell that ring differently. I'd double check that first.

@adahadaha yes. That’s more the way to describe it

@astolat - I agree with @adahadaha. You may have a wire up against the "bell" and it's deadening the sound.

Checked it again. I think the 2 splicer got in the way from the bell

Seems the new kits don’t come with the splicer

I think @twannatwattle is on to something. It looks like the white wire would be touching the top bell plate when the cover goes on. Have someone press the button while you're watching. You should see the right plunger go down then back up to hit both plates.

I’m going to remove those splicer and wire both wires to the terminal on the bell

@twannatwattle that was it. Removed those two splice terminals. Put the two wires direct to the doorbell connections. Works fine again. Thanks

It's probably hard coded to a . wav file somewhere. I doubt they will take the time to change it unless a lot of people complain.
