I just installed the floodlight camera and it's great. My question is I have the doorbell also and have the service for 3 dollars. To add the floodlight, would that another 3 dollars or should I just step up to the next protection plan? Trying to get the best bang for my money. Thanks in advance!

Just get the year of service. You already got two devices. You'll end up getting more. We had just the doorbell and now have 7 total devices in our homes.

I agree with Cameron. Like most of us, you'll continue to add devices, plus you get 10%discount at Ring, better warranty, etc.

The flood light cams are great, I put two in my backyard. I got some ring pathway lights out there too.

Upgraded to the Protect Plus at 3 devices. Video storage is 60 days for the US and some of its terrorizes and other countries may be 30 days.

Wyze cams are better

@sulphuric I seen some YouTube videos of wyze cams and they look pretty good. Mainly because of the 7 day free storage but I’ll stick to ring and amazon.

@sambar i have both so i dont need to do homework, wyze are better with local storage and ring is overpriced.

@sulphuric If you did your homework you would know that Ring has more capability outdoors. Wyze has no Floodlight or siren. Wyze is great for indoors. But I would not consider Wyze better for outdoor use, again as the poster asked. Wyze is not intended for outdoor use either. Your response is not relevant to the post. Your sticking an opinion in there that doesn’t apply. Sorry, but we disagree. Wyze has it’s strength inside, Ring outside. That’s my opinion and don’t believe you can refute it capability wise.

@sambar wrong i have 10 wyze cams outdoors i have floods turn on with motion. Ring does not have more capability but it does have capability. Ring doesnt have Local storage does it? You have to rely on a cloud, wyze doesnt. I told you already i have ring cams also. Wyze is way better, i can add a cam anywhere for 25. 00. Ring you need 150. 00. Waste of money.

@sulphuric OK, so you are adding details you left out of you original comment. But let’s be fair and truthful. WyzeCams are made for indoor use, not outdoor. So you void your warranty. Second are you using a third party enclosure for them for any protection from the elements? Then there’s cost. For fairness, include total cost. Add the cost of enclosure and what about cost of your motion floodlights. Then there’s running to power requirements, and aesthetics. There’s 12 sec videos vs. 60. Still no siren. No integration with a security system, automatic snapshots, etc. But, hey, to each his own. I’m glad your happy with your set up.

You all are so very very WRONG! Ring, Wizen, Nest, Arlo and whatever else is out their that I cannot think of at the moment. All that stuff is a thing of the past! criminals these days see a ring device and it doesn't stop them at all, they continue to Break in or steal whatever it is they're after. BUT after years of trying everything! you can try and buy. you name it, I have had it, bought it and installed it. not to mention paid the fees that go with them all. and nothing really seems to stop anyone, or its too late, they came and did what they want and got away with not being caught. so what's the point of all that stuff? NOW theirs a point. I love my system theirs nothing out there like it! .

It shouldn't be to long before RING and some of the others you mentioned will catch up to be competitive in the video surveillance market. On another note I was halfway expecting you post to be a parody to end something like this. In the fantasies of the movies there was this BOND scene. It certainly put a permanent end to the theft of James Bond's car but also ended the car too.

The $10/mo. protection plan is only $100 a year for one time payment. It includes video support for unlimited cams, but is especially worth it for Rings security system professional security services. It also includes ongoing warranty and purchase discounts.
The Ring Home Security Group is where you can always find questions, answers, advice, reviews & recommendations from other community members about smart home security with the Ring doorbell, alarm, and cameras.
