This may be a silly question, we just got a second Ring doorbell. Do we have to get a second subscription for video?

You need one subscription per household (address) Correction: this is for the $10/mo or $100/year unlimited camera plan. Otherwise it’s $30/camera or $30/year

@kelcey not if you want cloud storage. Each camera must have its own account.

@kelcey best bet is to go online ring. com and read the truth. There is a hand-full of ways to have video recordings/storage. Monthly or yearly rates. If all your camera are at one address you may put them all on one contract and pay at maximum unlimited amount and get extended warranty and equipment purchase discounts. The unlimited starts to be more economical at about 3 to 4 cameras.

@wsan4230 Not correct. Please go to Ring. com and get the correct information.

I’ve been corrected, please see the excerpt from Ring

@tessellation I understand you can actually use the Ring doorbell with no subscription. I know that. However, if you want cloud storage for any length of time and you want all your cameras with cloud storage, the $100/ service covers all your cameras plus gives you full security system, including auto calling police and fire.

@tessellation show me where I’m wrong.

@wsan4230 Nice job

@wsan4230, you originally said each camera must have its own account. That’s the part you were wrong about. Perhaps you meant household rather than camera?

@hembree557 if you want unlimited cloud storage you must have an account for each camera. Yes, you can use a ring doorbell for free, but there is no cloud storage.

I have a doorbell on my front in a doorbell on the back. I have two subscriptions. I pay $100 for the year

@peddling I’d call them back and save $40. 00 a year 2 devices should only cost $60. 00

@epiphenomenalism Will do thank you

@peddling, please ignore most of this. lol. If you’re paying $100/year total for both cameras, that’s just one subscription.

@hembree557/activity" class="qa-user-link">hembree557 Right and I can add other things they told me it would still be $100 for the subscription. Thanks @hembree557/activity" class="qa-user-link">hembree557

Each camera has its own subscription, In the UK we pay £25 annually per device or you can get the protect plus plan which is £80 per year and covers unlimited devices as well as extending the warranty on your devices for as long as you subscribe. So if you have 3 devices or more makes sense to subscribe to the plus plan. These are obviously if you want the cloud service else you will just get live view.

Nope. But it’ll cost another $3/mth or $30/year for the cloud service.

If you pay the $100/year, it covers unlimited numbers of cameras and also covers the home security plan. It’s a incredible deal for the price.

If you are on the $3/mo or $30/yr plan, you’d want to step up to the protect plus plan. covers all cameras and adds some additional protection for the devices!
