Looking to purchase the Ring Chime Pro. Is there a big difference between the Pro and the Ring Chime? Is is worth the price difference?

Get the newer version. Old version looks bulky.

Be aware there's a known issue right now with the night light on the new Chime Pro. It just stays on all the time and never turns off during the day, rather than auto on/off like it's supposed to. I've not ever tried using them as WiFi extenders, but they work very well as a doorbell for me (I have no true doorbell). I'd recommend a better router or mesh WiFi rather than rely on a Chime Pro as an extender, but the night light is a nice touch on the Pro. I'd recommend the regular Chime over the Pro unless you really care about the night light. (the night light problem is said to be fixed with a firmware update)

@garrek mine now works perfect! Update a few days ago!

@brentwood did your initially not work right then and stay on all the time? I didn't hear they fixed it. Thanks I'll give mine a shot now!

Well no luck here. Only turns off if I shine a flashlight on it. Oh well I'll keep waiting but glad yours works well!

@garrek mine stayed on all the time, now it’s very sensitive and working well, keep it plugged in even if it stays on, the update will be pushed to it! I also like the new chime sounds!

Aww man you're killing me! You got new chime tones too? I have the original Chime Pro too, but all the chime sounds are the same between the 2. Hell I'll just be happy if the night light starts correctly working!

If you need a WiFi extender, look into mesh systems. If you just need sound, get the chime.
