Question

I’m writing from Australia where I’m lead to believe that the US and OZ apps are the same. I can’t believe there isn’t a way to turn off the camera (I have 3) and notifications. The Ring consultants in Egypt told me to decrease the motion sensitivity to the lowest level, which didn’t work, or to go to motion zones and to delete the motion zone and reset it which is a joke and time consuming when I want the cameras on again. Another option is motion scheduling which is pathetic as I’m not programming my sprinkler unit, but I’m freely walking around my property and want to simply suspend or turn off my camera. Such a button must exist. Can this be done?

Please clarify. Do you actually want to power down the camera or just stop the recording or notifications?

@varese5 you’ll know when an intruder enters your house as you’ll either be shot or you (or girlfriend) will come home to a ransacked house. the risk you have if you turn off the recordings (which does not exist) is that you will actually miss the intruder anyhow, hence why turning off recordings altogether doesn’t make sense, unless your trying to hide something from the girlfriend. just saying.

Well it's a security camera. It's main function is to record movement. While it may be a pain in the ass to have clips of you working in your backyard. That's the point. Besides. None of the video is recorded or saved to your phone. So it's not like your using up space or anything. Best bet is to snooze the notifications. And if you know you were in your backyard for an hour, skip those videos that are time-stamped and search for the timeframe you want. It's easy really. Can't have everything exactly the way each customer wants. Trying to please everybody, Nobody would be happy. It's a security cam. And it's doing its job.

It can be done. My Blink XT cams have a Armed slider button in the app that can turn them off. It turns all three off with one button though.
